Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town
Ranked #31 of 112 Hotels in Cape Town Central
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 8, 2014

The hotel is located right next to the waterfront. I got upgraded as the hotel was not busy at the time. The sea facing rooms are spacious, big bathrooms with bath and shower. The room has the essential amenities with Flat Screen TV, etc. everything in the room is of good quality, towels , toiletries etc. the hotel has no free wifi. The food is very good, the service is excellent. The hotel is very busy during peak so book in advance. There is golf course nearby, there is a Virgin Active gym 5 min drive away. All the attractions are few minutes drive away. The hotel has it's own parking.

The hotel had an amazing staff an amazing location, and a view of dolphins and the occasional whale at breakfast. It is surely a haven of tranquility in one of the most hectic but beautiful cities that the southern hemisphere has to offer. Quite one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in the 54 countries I have visited!::))

Where to start..Radisson Blu Waterfront Cape Town is one of the very best hotels in Cape town offering excellent rooms, service, food and drink ( breakfast was amazing) Close to the V&A waterfront and offers free 5 minute transfer to the Waterfront on the hour and back at qtr past hour.even though only a 10 minute walk its nice to have the option especially coming back after a few glasses of excellent wines on offer. The Waterfront offers superb restaurants and bars try Belthazar for over 600 wines and the best steaks, Tasca, City Grill so many places so little time. Going back to South Africa for longer is definitely on the list...we cant wait.

Overall a very decent 4 star hotel, the staff are well trained and very friendly. I'm writing this review though because of the amazing breakfast cooked by the chef. After ordering an omelet I realized that it was the best I've ever tasted.

Room Tip: The rooms on the top levels on either side of the building have their own balconies which are a good...

We weren't sure about staying here initially & compromised due to cost when looking at some of the more expensive hotels within the V&A - it was our honeymoon so wanted something extra special. We also upgraded on the bay hotel in camps bay for the second part of our stay which was average- overall the Radisson blu was the better choice and cheaper by far & we are so glad we stayed here rather than in the V&A. It felt like you could leave the noise and hustle of the waterfront but be close enough to get to it by walking (5 mins) or by the shuttle bus. The hotel had a great lounger area & infinity pool, a serene view over the harbour watching all the cruises-we even saw dolphins one day! You could eat breakfast outside every day under the umbrellas which was lovely. The rooms were large and modern (we upgraded to a sea facing) and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.
Only recommendations would be for a more frequent shuttle service -every 30 mins maybe? It seemed like the driver just sat in the van for 45 minutes waiting for the next trip. Also more options of food on the restaurant menu (although the food was delicious but limited in variety).
We would definitely return when we come back to Cape Town, a great base to explore the city but also to relax in.
