Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town
Ranked #30 of 112 Hotels in Cape Town Central
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 11, 2013

We flew out to Cape Town on the 31st December and stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. We have stayed in the Radisson Blu in Johannesburg before so had an idea of what to expect - we only booked this hotel 2 days prior to our arrival!! When we got there the staff were very friendly. We were unable to check in as too early but were told we could use the spa to take a shower and change. Once we got our rooms we were pleasantly surprised with the size and the view. We did have to ask for room service to remember to replenish our shampoo and condition on a couple of occasions. The pool area was nice - small pool but plenty of seating area however, unfortunately, despite the signs, people still 'reserved' their sun beds... The staff at breakfast were very friendly - the food was good. The hotel had a courtesy car to take you to and from the V&A waterfront every hour which was convenient although only a 15 minute walk. I had a massage on 2 occasions in the Amani Spa which was very relaxing and reasonably priced. This was a great hotel in a perfect location - near to the V&A Waterfront but far enough from it at the same time ;)

Room Tip: Business rooms are slightly bigger with better views

We had a problem when a large suitcase of ours went missing. Lameez really put herself out tracing it and getting it delivered to us! Our 2 bedroomed suite was really comfortable with a wonderful view across the water! Breakfast was also very good!

we choose a business room on the 4th floor, the room is very beautiful with very nice ocean view,
we arrive late in the night and first impression was not the best but the next day with the daylight we change our opinion, location is very nice, reception staff need some improvement but what is really remarkable is that during breakfast on the terrace you can see a lot of dolphins.
nice experience.

When I checked in I asked for a quiet room, they put me right above the drive-way. I was then moved to a room with no drapes in front one of the windows! The room had clearly not been vacuumed in a while, the toilet was un-flushed and basic amenities such as an alarm clock, stationary and ice bucket are apparently too much of a luxury for this supposedly 5-star outfit. When you ask for the manager you are quickly put through to a voice mail that tells you that “the room doesn’t exist”! I am here four more nights. I fear the worst. This wonderful city does not deserve this.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions over the last few years and it has never dissapointed. The location is simply unique, with an amazing view across the ocean from the terrace and pool deck. The staff is very fiendly, breakfast is great and so is the dinner menu. The rooms are spacious, well kept and clean. Whilst you may also find this in other hotels in Cape Town, the views across the ocean alone is enough of a reason to make this the place to go to.

Walk along the sea front from moullie point to the radisson hotel in granger bay and earn yourself a treat drink on the radisson patio. Lovely sea view, smell of the sea. Go late afternoon to catch the afternoon light. Try and get a table close to the sea and you feel like you are on a ship!

My daughter arranged a surprise 40th birthday party for her boyfriend at the Radisson Blu Granger Bay but in the meantime the boyfriend and I were arranging a surprise marriage proposal in the room. Not one of the two knew what was going on. The assistant manager Marcel Eichenberger and his staff went out of their way to arrange rose petals, chocolates and strawberries dipped in chocolate for the room. The function went so well, the canape's fabulous but the cherry on the top was the romantic setting in the room and a gorgeous Uwe Koetter diamond ring!
Breakfast was a feast fit for a king. The Raddisson Blu comes highly reccommended!
