In 2005, my husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, and he surprised me by booking an overnight stay at this magnificent hotel. We had a room with a view of the sea, and after a very warm welcome, we were shown to a beautiful fresh and clean room which had a view of the sea. We were treated to champagne and a beautiful plate of chocolates and fruit from the management. The next morning we enjoyed and magnificent breakfast buffet, unlike I have never experienced anywhere else in the world, not even in Paris, France. It is 7 years later, and I still remember this experience with much nostalgia and I hope to return for my 40th anniversary. A huge thank you to all the staff who made our stay unforgettable.

Room Tip: Any room will be worthwhile.

There is no better view in Cape Town but why don't they do oysters. Champagne has a 400% markup but wine list is good, albeit prices are st a level where it clearly pays the rent. Food is good. presentation fresh and service attentive. with this location and the produce you have in Cape Town the restuarant needs to ratchet up several notches.

We have stayed in this hotel a few times and are always impressed with the cheerful and friendly staff, outstanding location and excellent accommodation. On our most recent visit we were upgraded to a Business Class room (thanks to Club Carlson Gold!) facing the sea which was very spacious, clean and bright. Extra touches like a mini bar area with a proper counter, balcony and large, well appointed bathroom were very welcome. The staff were also very helpful in assisting with a reservation for my mother who stayed in a standard room. Although her room was not sea facing it was still very large compared to standard rooms in other hotels and the bathroom had a separate shower which is also a significant perk. We used the Spa on two occasions and found the staff to be friendly and professional and the facilities were well maintained. Breakfast is generous and there is a wide variety to choose from. In good weather dining outside on the terrace right at the ocean is an absolute pleasure. Here again staff are friendly and eager to please. The terrace is also a popular spot for drinks in the evening where sometimes the service can be a little slow. Given that this is one of the best positions in the city to watch the sunset it is not surprising and it is the only (very small) complaint I would have.

Room Tip: Business Class sea facing rooms are magnificent!

I stayed in this hotel for 10 days in a sea facing room. It was a pleasant stay. The room was very spacious with separate bedroom and hall. The room had a balcony facing the sea. It was a great experience sleeping in the room listening to the sea breeze.
The bed was comfortable, the wardrobe was huge which could accommodate all my stuff. The tea/coffee maker and the fillings were appropriately placed in a place containing the minibar. The service was very good
The breakfast was excellent. I did not have any difficulty getting anything despite being a vegetarian. The restaurant staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The barman made a special cocktail for me for my dinner. The chef made a special vegetarian dish for because the restaurant menu did not have anything that I liked.
Overall, I was very happy with my stay, especially because of the hotel staff including the that at the reception and in the restaurant.
Thought it was a business trip for me, I can recommend this hotel for couples and families.

Room Tip: Prefer a sea facing room.

We stayed here for 5 nights in late August 2012 and it was one of the best hotels that we've stayed in. We travel alot with 4 kids ages 4, 6, 8, 11 so we know what different experiences in 5 star hotels are like. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath ocean facing suite. Gorgeous view of Victoria Albert Waterfront area and you could hear the ocean waves crashing against the breakers all night long. The room was super spacious and super clean with a small kitchenette. The master bedroom was it's own room separated by a door so you could have complete privacy from the kids. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was nice. The chef remembered from the first morning that my little one wanted bananas so if they weren't offered, she would stop me and pull some out from the frig just for him. I also liked the fact that we were away from the Waterfront but could easily walk there or take a shuttle from the hotel. In the other direction was a playground, mini train, and mini golf by the ocean's edge that was in walking distance. On our last day, we weren't due to leave for the airport til 4 in the afternoon so they kindly supplied us with another room at no charge (would have given us 2 rooms but we only took 1) so we could leave our luggage and freshen up before our long flight home. In terms of comfort and service and location, this has been one of the top hotels we've ever stayed at. Would stay here again if we came to Cape Town.

This was my second time in this hotel and I must say what a beautiful room, so clean and comfortable, however the only disappointment was breakfast where as it is so busy, the staff have hardly any time to assist you and trying to find a clean table set up was hard, the food itself was cold and I brought it to the attention of the management. Would of been nice to of been offered a hot breakfast along the motto line, YES we can. The location is very good with a free shuttle into town and back every hour. Was pleased with the stay even though the whole restaurant breakfast team let down all the good points.

On Sunday I visited the Radisson with two friends who wished to watch sports (rugby or cricket!!!). I had a delicious supper in the sports lounge. My friends ordered line fish, I ordered Sirloin. Our food was served hot and appetisingly arranged on the platter. I also had a capuccino. There is a huge TV in the sports bar and my friends thoroughly enjoyed the sports. Somehow the ambience of all the sports-minded people was great and so contagious that I, who have no real interest in any sports, seemed to be drawn into the enjoyment of watching South Africa score.
Parking for one hour is free and thereafter R10 for the 2nd hour and R20 for the third hour which I think is very reasonable.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the oceon.
