“Perfect for business”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

I was staying in Cape Town on business and attending a conference in the ICC, so this hotel could not have been more convenient, right next door, steps away.

As you would expect from a 5 star Westin hotel you get fantastic service and comfort, all of course at a price. But my room on the 15th floor could not have been better. And the view of Table Mountain?! Well, it goes down as one of the best views I've ever experienced from any hotel.

I want to single out one particular aspect of my stay. I arrived early on Saturday morning and so had some time to kill before work began. I was pretty tired after an overnight flight, so decided to book spa treatments. The spa is on the top floor and is absolutely fantastic. After an hour-long and massage I was taken to a room where they had heated water beds with fur wraps and was told I could lie down in there and sleep for as long as I liked. You will have to go a long way to find anything more comfortable. The staff in the spa were lovely too. I spent a wonderful hour with two ladies who did a manicure and pedi and kept me happily entertained with conversation about life in the city.

I never made it to the rooftop infinity pool, but I'm pretty sure that would have been an amazing experience too.

This is one of the more expensive hotels in Cape Town, even in the 5 star range, it is at the top end of pricing, and this review must be seen in that light. The service was good and the rooms are very nice, but you expect that in a top-end hotel. my stay was spoiled by (i) The shower leaked into the bathroom, wetting the bathroom floor, (ii) the coffee machine, a Nespresso imitation, also leaked, (iii) the acoustics are awful! I could hear the road noise from the highway nearby, and I could hear all the noise from the corridor outside my room...I was woken up by the noise of a mini-conference being held outside my room by some of the other guests. The noise cam straight thru the door...no soundproofing whatsoever. Very poor for this level of hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and it was excellent, every member of staff from the doorman to the General Manager were friendly and always willing to help.

The location is great and the hotel runs a shuttle every 30 minutes to the Waterfront free of charge, what a great value add!

The rooms are large and very well decorated and the restaurants are amazing and very affordable!

If you in Cape Town, this hotel will cater for your every need!

The Westin is in a great location right next to the Convention Centre. Additionally it's just a short walk to the St. Georges Mall and the start of Long Street and all of its restaurants and bars. On top of that, there's a regular shuttle to the Waterfront.
If you book into a club room the Club lounge has a great view and a great breakfast spread.

We stayed in one of the suites at the Westin. Our room was very spacious, modern, and comfortable. I was a little nervous about the bathrooms based on the online pictures posted by other reviewers but our bathroom was very large and luxurious and included separate toilet, large 2 person shower, and a soak tub. We had great views of both table mountain and the waterfront to the ocean. The breakfast was delicious. If you can, I also highly recommend booking one of the suites to partake in the daily happy hour! The staff was very helpful in recommending things to do and great restaurants. The location was also ideal for exploring cape town city.

excellent hotel for business and found it wonderful for our personal and tourism needs too. very attractive decor and terrific location for view of Table Mt and water and getting to waterfront convenient via free shuttle. staff friendly and helpful. Only complaint service consistently poor at expansive breakfast buffet, probably due to large number of people.

Room Tip: take advantage of unforgetable view of Table Mountain

The hotel was perfect. The decor, the design, the staff, the buffet beakfasts, the rooms were all outstanding. My ample- sized room had a view of Table Mountain and water. Beds are superb. While the location appealed to business travelers as it's across the street from the convention center, it's also is an excellent hotel for the traveler. It's located within walking distance of the V and A Waterfront as well as the heart of the City of Capetown. The people at the concierge desk were more than helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Table Mountain.
