My wife and I stayed at Parker for 5 nights in January and what a delightful experience it was. The location is excellent with it less than 5 minutes from Kloof Street which has some wonderful restaurants while it is a short drive (could be a walk) to the Table Mtn cable car. Phil and Liz were very helpful with restaurant tips and things to do in the area. The breakfast was lovely and they leave the kitchen open to all guests to help yourself at all times with a honesty book available to make a note of anything you decide to take.

We had a fabulous stay at Parker Cottages and would highly recommend people to stay here.

Parker Cottage has it all!
A cottage from 1895 whith 8 rooms in great standard.
The beds and bathrooms are in great conditions and are installed whith aircondition.
The hosts Phil and Liz whith staff will take care of you and help you in any way.
Phil arranged a nice winetasting for all the guests and arranged a cake for our fathers 60 th birthday.
The staff helps you with everything from calling a cab, reservate a restaurant, fix you towels for the beach etc. They deserve a extra star!

If you want a intimate, peaceful, beautiful and quiet place to stay choose Parkers Cottage!
Obviously we will next time in Cape Town...

My husband and I were traveling for a month through South Africa with our grown sons in their early 20s and Parker Cottage was our last stop. A perfect place to wrap up our amazing adventure in that beautiful country. The attention to detail was lovely and most appreciated by our road weary group -- a very welcoming and comfortable spot. The location is ideal for getting around Cape Town, the breakfast food is wonderful, and the rooms were very, very nice. Phil was extremely helpful about where to go, restaurant recommendations, and offered car advice and a nearby tire store! The "cottage" is beautifully furnished with lovely decor, and the quality of the linens and accomodations very, very nice. We would go back in heart beat!

I stayed at Parker Cottage in January 2010, which was a great location--within walking distance of the Company Gardens and other main sights, close to many restaurants and in a lovely, safe neighborhood. Phil and staff are just terrific. The service is top notch - great full breakfast buffet in the morning on the lovely porch overlooking their garden, and full access to their kitchen for coffee, tea, drinks as desired. Phil is particularly knowledgeable about local restaurants, sights and places to shop--every recommendation he made was spot on. Prices are quite reasonable in this small b and b, which is run more like a small boutique hotel.

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at Parker Cottage and well what can I say except it was fantastic. Beautiful house in a great location, great rooms, great breakfast, great staff, great local taxi firm - just wish we could have stayed longer! If you are heading Cape Town and want to stay somewhere with the personal touch then you must stay here. Its within walking distance of some great restaurants and a short taxi ride to the V&A, the Mountain etc. We would also recommend the "hop on, hop off" bus for getting about - was great fun. All in all a great trip and we were very sorry to have to leave

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to Parker Cottage! We’re a little different than the usual hotel or guesthouse experience. Rather than being just a conventional ‘place to sleep’, we offer a very much unplugged, urban retreat right in the creative heart of Cape Town. So although we offer free and fast internet, we don't do minibars, piped music or even reception desks. Think of us like a country house in the middle of the city. We’re the kind of place where you can rediscover the art of conversation, endless breakfasts and total serenity. Parker is a social place too: our legendary free wine evenings occur at least twice a week and there’s no ‘cut off’ time for our gourmet breakfasts either. ... more   less
