The Table Bay Hotel
Ranked #18 of 110 Hotels in Cape Town Central
Reviewed June 8, 2013

The whole feel of this hotel is of an international 5 star. Professional, friendly, high prices. So, why not a 5 star rating? Because looking closer you recognize the Sun International Las Vegas signature. The "old colonial" look works if you keep a distance. But actually it is all new. The worst being the plastic palm trees in the lounge. Come on guys, saving on water? But although it might not be as authentic as The Mount Nelson it is still a very comfortable 5 star hotel with all its facilities.

Dear Joop C,

We are delighted to hear of your memorable experience and value your feedback regarding the trees in The Conservatory.

Your comments are well received and I am thrilled to inform you of the tree removal which will happen in the coming weeks. We look forward to welcoming you back to our new and improved space once our new look has been completed.

Great views and very good location - you can walk to any attraction at V&A harbor and all the shopping. Good service and security. Concierge very helpful in organizing sightseeing or any other services. I think the rooms can use a little bit of updating especially for the price.

TWe did not stay here. This hotel has beautiful corridors and lobby. We had high tea here one afternoon. It is served from 2:15-5:15 p.m. and costs only 185 rand. You each get four small sandwiches, then three three pieces of quiche, then four scones. Lastly, there were 15 desserts and you can have as much and as many of them as you want. Also, you get your choice of more than two dozen teas and unlike other places, you are not charged if you have more than one potful. Service was excellent and the food was excellent. Plus you have a great view of Table Mountain as you enjoy your tea!

This facility certainly isn't Africa. But it is one of the finest international hotels with a beautiful location in the middle of the shopping centers on the waterfront. Enjoyed the artwork and the paintings. Don't miss the afternoon High Tea.

We spent 4 nights at the Table Bay hotel right on the Victoria and Alfred waterfront. The view of Table mountain was amazing and shopping and restaurants were close by. The breakfast buffet was the most extensive I have ever experienced although it was sometimes difficult to get a table in the Atlantic Grill. The High Tea was also excellent. The hotel arranged a trip for us to Cape of Good Hope and the staff were always helpful. We were less excited by the one dinner at the Hotel as the description of the food was better than the taste.

Facility, location, availibility of Resturants and service is superb!!! Great view of Table Mountain!! A shopping mall connected for those that really need to shop. The personnel were very acommodating and without being obtrusive always seemed to be at your side.

Recently stayed here for 6 days. The hotel rooms are lovely and give a extra special
touch however do not ask for anything in addition like ice because it just does not happen. Buffet breakfast is large, food ok, the service in this area needs lots of help.
The staff tends to spend a lot of time talking amoungst themselves. Takes a long while to get your coffee or meals if you order something from the kitchen. Found it amazing that it appeared the supervisors in the room also engaged in joking and talking with staff and not paying much attention to customers! Service needs lots of attention in the
dining areas.
The hotel is beautiful with an ideal location on the waterfront. Many restaurants within walking distance.
We had a nice view from room overlooking table bay. If you looked down you viewed a roof not to attractive but was overlooked.

Room Tip: We looked over table bay and it was very nice
