It was very nice to spend the new year in there. Excellent breakfast, evening tea, fabulous views of the VA Waterfront, very good service. Wireless Internet coverage as Hotel compliment over all areas. A truly 5 star experience.

Room Tip: Waterfront view is much better then the ocean view. You will see table mountain, the city and the wa...

Very well situated with easy access to shops at the V&A waterfront mall, leading out to restaurants in the market and yacht area. Amazing views of Table mountain and the harbour on one side and the sea on the other.
Beautiful colonial decor at the hotel entrance with excellent service levels. A variety of Cape fruit, cereals and yoghuts for breakfast.
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel!!

The Table Bay Hotel is located in the V&A Waterfront area, and attached to the shopping complex. Plenty of bars and places to eat all within easy walking distance.

The rooms are lovely - we had a view of Table Mountain and the waterfront which was lovely. Service overall was great, however a few of the food and beverage staff were slow and orders often took a long time, particularly in the lounge / bar area downstairs.

Food and drinks are very very cost effective in South Africa, and the hotel is no exception.

During busy times make sure you book restaurants in the hotel and surrounding waterfront area - they seem to fill up fast and securing a table can be tricky.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Table Mountain. If you want to visit Robben Island you need to book tick...

I did not stay at this hotel but a friend recommended that I visit for afternoon tea. I took this advise and recommend that you give it a go. This was a three course experience with a different selection of teas being offered with each course. The hotel is beautiful and my table overlooked Table Mountain, which was magical as it was covered by the Tablecloth and sitting watched the 'clouds' spill over the mountain top was magical! As a solo traveller I was made to feel welcome and staff were all very helpful and friendly. I also did tea at another 5 star hotel that is supposed to be the best for afternoon tea - I disagree and felt that the Table Bay Hotel won hands down!

One of the top rated 5 star hotels in Cape town, a very grand hotel located on the waterfront with the convenience of direct access to the V&A area, bars, restaurants, shops. The rooms are large and well appointed and we opted for a sea view looking out towards Robben Island, which was great. Staff are generally friendly and the Concierge was helpful and efficient. The roof top Pool area is peaceful and we made use of the Spa Treatments where the staff were friendly and professional. The bar area had a real Colonial feel about it and staff were friendly albeit was very smoky, but then it is called the 'Cigar Bar'. Found breakfast to be chaotic and not a great way to start the day, there is an extensive breakfast buffet selection, although we found the hot section to be at best Luke warm and when ordering at the table the service was slow and on more than one occasion we didnt exactly get what we ordered, missing cutlery all small points but important that a hotel of this standard gets the quality of service right, because of this experience we chose not to dine in the hotel! We asked for an extended (later) check out to be told it would cost R800 for 2 hours and and R3000 for any longer...so we checked out on time! Also the free WiFi switches off at check-out time and they then charge for this service, as they say "you don't get nothing for nothing in this world", which is certainly the case at this hotel! But apart from these small irritations the location is ideal and we enjoyed our stay.....

Room Tip: We chose a sea view on the 7th floor but you can also request a view over the waterfront towards Tab...

Not quite 5 star, but good location, friendly service, good rooms, easy access to Waterfront. Breakfast was excellent; afternoon tea nice, doorman very accommodating. Not a ton of personality, byt very good overall quality and superb views of Table Mountain.

This is my third stay at this hotel. The hotel is ideally located with beautiful ocean and mountain vistas. The hotel is linked to the best shopping centre in Cape Town. The rooms and restaurants are world class. As a member of Leading Hotels of the World, you can be rest assured of a high quality of accommodation.

Room Tip: Room 130 a great family room with young kids
