I have just returned from Cape Town with my wife from our honeymoon. As a surprise I booked us in to the Mount Nelson as I had told her it was to expensive. On arrival she started to cry. This hotel is simply amazing! From the old school glamour of the decor to the fantastic afternoon tea EVERYTHING about this hotel oozes class. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was superb. I had informed them before that we were on our honeymoon and they treated us like royalty upgrading us on arrival to a better room also lots of lovely little extras were thrown in to our stay. We loved exploring Cape Town and the buzzy cosmopoltian feel to this fanatastic city was just what we wanted however when we had enough of the city to retreat back to the calm of the Mount Nelson was a total joy. I will come back to this wonderful hotel and city for many years to come.

We stayed here for three nghs, and then a further night as we came back into Cape Town. It is beautiful; the room was very well decorated, comfortable and great view. The food was terrific; breakfast, afternoon tea and the evening dinner - not to missed and terrific value. Terrific service - helpful and personal. Great location. We would love to go back soon - it's just a long way from England!

We decided to visit the hotel for afternoon tea during our short stay in Cape Town. The tourbus has a stop right opposite the main gates which was very handy as we were sightseeing. We were warmly welcomed and the service was second to none. It was a very relaxing and tranquil atmosphere in oppulent and grand surroundings. Afternoon tea surpassed my expectations and was very good value for money. The savoury and sweet pastries, cakes and sandwiches were delicious and choosing a tea from there extensive menu was a difficult one! We finished off with a stroll around their beautiful gardens. We will be back!!

I have recently returned from a trip to SA where I stayed with friends in CT for a week. We visited Mount Nelson for tea one afternoon and the following day returned for a treatment in their Spa. What a highlight of my trip! Despite the luxury surroundings of the hotel, the tea was very relaxed, the staff were friendly and professional and the food and cakes were suberly presented (and very tasteful). The welcome we received the following day in the Spa was second to none and the treatment was one of the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend that if you spoil yourself doing one thing in CT, it's tea and a treatment at Mount Nelson!

The Mount Nelson is spectacular -- we stayed for four nights and had a wonderful experience. The service is incredible and everything was perfect. From the turn down service to the delicious breakfast to the spa to High Tea, our stay was top notch. I would recommend the Mount Nelson to anyone visiting Cape Town.

We spent 5 days at Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town in august 2010 and we were very impressed by the hotel as a whole. The old British atmosphere is charming. The breakfast at the Oasis restaurant is very complete with a wide choice of excellent food and unique bread, the service was perfect. The afternoon tea is unique with a wide and unique choice finger sandwiches, cakes, tea, and notes from Grande Piano.
We had a very helpful and cooperative concierge. There is a lot of parking places, the garden is beautiful. Our room was fabulous with a nice balcony. On the overall, we can say that it is among one of the best hotels we have been and we will certainly come back
