The Cape Grace hotel is one of the finest hotels to be found anywhere. Superbly situated at Cape Town’s V & A Waterfront, with its restaurants and shopping centers, the Cape Grace’s rooms face directly onto either a fishing harbor basin or a yacht basin and many also have views looking directly toward Table Mountain. The rooms are all spacious and lavishly furnished with all amenities and the corridors are lined with antiques and old photographs. Arriving guests are assured of a gracious welcome at any hour and the front desk staff personally escort guests to their rooms to ensure that everything is in order. At all times, staff members are available and ready to help with any requests. The food service is consistently excellent.

Room Tip: The hotel’s limousines and drivers are available on a complimentary basis to take hotel guests to an...

One can't go wrong by choosing to meet up for pre-dinner drinks at The Bascule @ Cape Grace. Whilst I wasn't staying at the hotel, I chose to meet up with friends for a quick drink before moving across to the nearby V&A for dinner.

The atmosphere in the bar (and outside in summer) is great. The sophistication is still there following a recent refurbishment - and service levels are very good. Prices are in line with other 5-star establishments; and better value for money if one earns in Euros or Dollars.

The décor of the hotel is rather "unique" - not my taste. Again, the service standards are world class. The central location will always be a winner.

Room Tip: Mountain-facing is best.

We started our holiday in SA here and it was the perfect start. The room was spectacular- very large, a beautiful view over the marina and fantastically large bathroom. The staff were faultless- they simply could not do enough for you. Lance- one of the drivers - was truly excellent : a fount of knowledge and so interesting. This really is the place to stay in Cape Town!

We spent five nights, my husband and I and our two teenager daughters. We had a very large two suites bedroom. Very spacious with a big living room and kitchen and three bathrooms. The room is elegantly decorated, clean and beautiful. Location is great, very close to the waterfront. Staff was really friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast is excellent and in our case included in the price. The have a complimentary shuttle service in a brand new BMW if you book in advance.
Pricy but worth it! I definetly recommend!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with view to the marina and table mountain

Some may find this hotel acceptable, but I must disagree with it... Room booked - Table Mountain view, can I see the mountain? Well, yes, only if I lean out the window, that's not a view in my opinion...
Not a single picture or some sort of art in the whole room, only some caged flower arrangement on a side of an empty wall...
TV in the room, I honestly don't even know what size it is, I never seen them so small at hotels that I been to...
Some digital clock on a bedside table, the kind you could get back 15 years ago, I guess now you get them at some bargain store for a cent...
iPod speakers - again, the cheapest and poorest quality I personally experienced, yuk :(
Floor lamp stands under wall lights, right under... And everything else as if it all was crammed into this corner, nothing matches or goes together...

Our four nights at the Cape Grace were fantastic! The hotel is elegant and the location is perfect. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful in every way. The rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is just a short walk to the waterfront for shopping or dining making this a perfect location. The hotel will also shuttle you anywhere within 10K, so that was extremely helpful. There is so much to do and see in Cape Town, and this hotel was a wonderful place to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. The doormen even say "Welcome home" when you return, and that's how it feels. Keep up the good work, it is very much appreciated!
