Stayed here for a week. A bit off centre but easy walk through Company Gardens to centre, museums and Long Street. Great restaurant. Small pool but fine. Rooms OK. Staff generally helpful. Busy as used by quite a few tour companies. Next to main road.

Room tip: Ask for a room at rear as away from traffic noise and gives views of Table Mountain.

Stopped for 3 nights. Room with great views of Table Mountain. Good location with a 5 minute walk to City Tour bus stop. Staff friendly and efficient although getting coffee at breakfast was slow. Evening meal food quality and service was excellent. Air conditioning unit a little noisy.

We stopped for three nights as part of a tour group so I can't comment on value for money. The hotel was clean tidy and suitably equipped. Our room was at the end of a floor so had the advantage of views in two directions. The evening meal and breakfast buffets suited my taste in food. I liked the hotel it had a pleasant feel to it and most of the staff were helpful, friendly, and efficient. The hotel is close to a stop on the 'hop on hop off' open top bus route which is handy and well worth using. My one criticism of the hotel which could easily be fixed was the service at breakfast, the staff seemed to disappear when coffee was needed and it was difficult to find to serve yourself. The tables at breakfast were also very slow in being re-set which meant a hunt for items of cutlery etc.
I find it difficult to understand when the cleaners, bar staff, reception, evening waiting staff, and kitchen staff/chefs behind the pass (both breakfast and dinner) were all so friendly and efficient, that there was the sudden drop in service at breakfast. It's a small fault but a little annoying as it affects the whole review.(And I hate waiting 35 minutes for a coffee at breakfast particularly as by then I've finished everything else.)

The Hotel reception was good looking, the staff welcomed us very well. I like the pool site more especially. The rooms were good looking with a comfortable bed. I was not thrilled with dinner because it was only one standard menu, and not much choice. The breakfast as well was limited.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review your most recent stay with us at Sun Square Cape Town Gardens and for the wonderful feedback

Please note that for dinner we have a black board that varies each night and offers variety to our guest that do not want buffet or our standard Ala cart menu

The hotel is very close to the V&A Waterfront, Green Point Stadium and other attractions. We used 2 of the conference rooms for work and the staff assisted with organizing what we needed. The hotel in general is clean and staff helpful although sometimes slow.
Highlight for me was the food, both the executive and sous chef went out of their way to accommodate what I requested to eat that was not on the menu. All in all a pleasant experience.
