Tapas with an Asian twist is not new so what is all the fuss about. Spicy chicken wings and Duck spring rolls have been done before. Can't believe some of the other review comments like 'fantastic view', it might be IF they washed the windows. 'Best food in Capetown', my advice is get out more, there are so many restaurants better than this.
It is a cheaply furnished restaurant in a 'refurbished' old mill in a very seedy part of Capetown. The open plan kitchen let's you see seven people at work but only two of them wore any kind of head covering. I guess the fans of this place don't mind the odd hair in their food! Salt and pepper on the tables are in open dishes rather than grinders so you just have to hope that the last diners had clean hands!
The menu is not divided into starters, mains etc, the dishes are organized by headings such as 'sour', 'sweet', etc. You write your order on a form and give to the waiter who then keys it into a computer. Dishes are not delivered as you listed them on the order but are delivered randomly in any order the chef chooses. In our case we had seven protein dishes followed at the end with potato wedges. A weird concept . . . yes!!
This restaurant us all hype because apapently it is owned by a famous chef.
