Tapas with an Asian twist is not new so what is all the fuss about. Spicy chicken wings and Duck spring rolls have been done before. Can't believe some of the other review comments like 'fantastic view', it might be IF they washed the windows. 'Best food in Capetown', my advice is get out more, there are so many restaurants better than this.

It is a cheaply furnished restaurant in a 'refurbished' old mill in a very seedy part of Capetown. The open plan kitchen let's you see seven people at work but only two of them wore any kind of head covering. I guess the fans of this place don't mind the odd hair in their food! Salt and pepper on the tables are in open dishes rather than grinders so you just have to hope that the last diners had clean hands!

The menu is not divided into starters, mains etc, the dishes are organized by headings such as 'sour', 'sweet', etc. You write your order on a form and give to the waiter who then keys it into a computer. Dishes are not delivered as you listed them on the order but are delivered randomly in any order the chef chooses. In our case we had seven protein dishes followed at the end with potato wedges. A weird concept . . . yes!!

This restaurant us all hype because apapently it is owned by a famous chef.

This review's title pretty much sums it up. This restaurant was hopping, and for good reason. The menu features some interesting dishes with Asian-inspired flavors served in a "small plates" format. We had some very good cocktails (you gotta try the pineapple cosmopolitan-type drink) and tasty food. The one dish we didn't enjoy was the Korean fried chicken, which was extremely salty. When the chef heard our feedback, he was apologetic. Speaking of the chef, we were seated near the open kitchen, so we could see all the action taking place in the kitchen. The service was friendly and helpful. We loved the overall experience. We even tried to go back during our visit to Cape Town, but the place was fully booked. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Not only because the food is delicious and the 'tapas' style lets you take on board many different flavours and textures, but because the atmosphere is just so relaxed (without the service being affected in any way). I can't recommend this place enough. A must when you are lucky enough to be in Cape Town. London needs a Pot Luck Club - it will teach more pretentious eateries how to deliver great food in an non-snobby manner.

Had a wonderful experience dining at the Pot Luck Club in June this year off season. The restaurant was packed even in the off season month of June. Food was beautifully presented, interesting and delicious like its sister restaurant Test Kitchen. Fresh ingredients, an assortment of wow flavor sensations and great wines will be what you get when you dine at this restaurant. The view of the city at night was one I had never seen before and it made the experience even more enjoyable. Nice buzz. No question about it! Everyone was friendly..busy..and took care of us very well. They even have a great view from the loo! Food priced well and what one would expect. Not expensive at all compared to other places and cities globally so in my opinion excellent value for money. Will be back when in Cape Town.
Cheers Guys...! You do it well..! G+R

The food as you can imagine was divine! Very varied, interesting ingredients, great portions. Another highlight is the view from the restaurant over Cape Town. The harbour on one side and Table Mountain on the other. Low point: the manager on duty was extremely unfriendly and borderline rude and the toilets were dirty and in a mess.. The atmosphere is very casual and the chefs seemed to love their job!
