My family of 7 members from Singapore took a safari @Idube Private Game Reserve and a Cape Town tour in Sept 2012. Jenny Herbert of PJ's Tarvel & Tours organised the entire itinerary for us. Our tour guides in Cape Town was Clive De Bruyne of The Cape Town Tour Guide Co and his sub contractor Mario.
We are very seasoned travellers. Nonetheless, the entire holiday exceed our expectations! Jenny and Clive are just fantatstic. Safari is out of this world, a once in life time experience. Jenny patiently spent the entire last year packaging the tour for us. We gave her A+.
As for Clive, we fully endorsed what a fellow traveller Lindsay S said about Clive. Clive is out of this world and probably the best tour guide we had met. He is a fountain of knowledge, from buildings, rock formations, animals, history, and from flora to fauna. We visited the famous Table Mountain, took a tour of the Peninsula, via Chapman's peak, Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. We stopped by Ostrichs farm, and said hello to penguins at Boulders Beach. Clive rescued my hat twice which was blown away by "hurricane" winds. He managed to take photos for us with 7 cameras hanging on him at the same time. He is passionate about his job and has a great sense of humour. He is also well organised and has an ever ready recommendations of restaurants that never failed to impress us. The Chinse dinner @ Haihu Restaurant was superb.
The next day, Mario took us to Dieu Donne, Franschhoek (French Corner), and Stelanbosch. Mario has a quiet enchanting style. A good listener and very flexible. He adjusted the itinerary to cater for our ad hoc wishes and we had a fabulous day, including a picnic at the park.
We will definitely go back to S Africa again, and you bet we will use their services again.
