“Very nice experience!”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

We found the museum by coincidence. We missed the boat to Robben Island and then just decided to look around and saw the sign of the Diamond Museum. Our guide was very nice and warm and knew what she was talking about. We felt welcome :) The tour itself was very informative and interesting and I can say, that now I know much more about the world of diamonds.

It was so cool to see how people actually work with diamonds - cutting, polishing, etc. And the showroom was pretty impressive.

Thank you for the wonderful experience! It was well worth to visit!

“Bling Bling!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

It was a complete coincidence that I visited the museum, I was avoiding the traffic after a busy day and happen to walk past. It was well worth the visit though! A short but informative introduction and history to diamonds, then they take you past the workshops into the sales room ie HUGE display of diamonds for sale. I received wonderful one on one attention from Chantel who showed me the cuts and patterns up close.

I would recommend going during regular office hours to see the workshops in operation, I'll be back to see that too!

“Elegant, magnificent and exquisite”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Warm welcome by very attractive and well presented young woman.
Throughout the whole tour she answered every one of our questions.
The tour was extremely informative and the setting was grand.
Icing on the cake was definitely the Ralph Lauren dress on display dontated by Charlize Theron which was worn at the Oscars along with a R20mil pendant made by Shimansky.
The history about the diamonds were given in such detail and the guide definitely knew what she was talking about.
The show room was breath-taking with the beautiful pieces on display.

“One of the best and unique attractions in Cape Town”
Reviewed June 12, 2014 via mobile

South Africa is the home of diamonds so where better than here to learn about them?! We had a fantastic guided tour with Vivienne (probably one of the best and genuinely friendly guides I've ever met) who took us through the history of diamonds, how diamonds are certified and then through to the workshops where you can see employees working at diamonds. Loved every moment! NB be sure to arrive before 3pm to see the diamond workshop in operation and request Vivienne if you can!

“Hidden Gem!”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

This was a wonderful little experience! It is a bit hidden, but well worth the R50. They give you a brief diamond history, then give you a lot of the history of diamonds being discovered in South Africa. They have replicas showing the process of cutting and polishing a diamond, and also have replicas of world famous pieces. The best part was the end, where you get to walk past a series of windows and watch the diamond process. You see people doing cutting, polishing, setting, and many other tasks. This was well worth the visit!
