We visited Aquila some four or so years ago but we didnt stay on that occasion, although we still had a great time.
This time around, there had been lots of (positive) changes - a new restaurant, swimming pool and outside bar. We had an eight berth hut which was perfectly adequate, although there was no communal seating area inside. To be honest, though, you spend so little time in the hut that you didn't really need it. There is a lovely indoor lounge bar with plenty of comfortable soft seating and the restaurant is lovely. Food was great, although the birds flying around inside the restaurant were a little off-putting (not to mention the mice! - good job the elephants didnt get loose!).
The staff were fantastic and the trips out into the reserve were wonderful - we really got up close to the lions and elephants and there were loads of opportunities for great photos. Guide Daniel was excellent.
Don't go here expecting a true safari, as someone else has already said. You don't feel that you are out in the wild, but you do feel that the animals have plenty of space and are contented and well looked after. Its a wonderful experience and well worth the money.More
