“Insightful and humbling”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

Tando guided us on this visit to Langa, and did an excellent job. We saw what life is like in the townships and shanty towns that you see around nearly every South African town. The level of material prosperity is low, and by UK standards much of the living conditions are very poor. However the community spirit appears to be very strong, we saw lots of smiles and a strong sense of togetherness. A tour such as this is essential in my view to help you understand South Africa today, and the immense housing challenges that it faces. We felt very safe at all times.

“Great Tour to real South Africa”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

We visited Langa with Siviwe tours and it was one of the most interesting things during our stay in South Africa. Nathie our guide showed us the township by a very real way, from his own experience. His explanations were really revealing and he was extremely nice. We could see some places of the daily life in the township and the work they're doing to improve their life conditions. It was a great experience and we could learn so much about the real life in South Africa. We strongly recommend this visit and this agency.

“A human approach to a wonderful society - best thing in Cape Town”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

We've literally just returned from a tour and I had to write a review immediately because we're so overwhelmed with how brilliant it was.
We were conscious that we wanted to respect and celebrate a huge part of the culture of SA and so were looking for a township tour which allowed us to do so and we definitely found it. If you are looking for personable guides, to experience local culture and feel welcomed then this is the tour for you. We were lucky enough to sample some local beer and visit different types of houses and hostels in Langa which gives a great sense of life here.
We were specifically interested in education facilities and were taken to the local primary school which was a magical experience.
Thank you to Naati, our guide, for being so forthcoming with local knowledge and cultural customs.

“Fantastic experience in Cape Town”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

It would be difficult to gain an understanding of Cape Town without a tour of a township. Our tour of Langa Township was one of the highlights of our trip to Africa. Our guide, Siviwe quickly established rapport by teaching us some of the clicking sounds of his Xhosa language. Siviwe explained a lot of the culture of the township, including the role of the ale house, where we were able to sample the beer. Throughout, Siviwe was personable, informative, and upbeat.

“An absolute must for everyone”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

This visit to Langa has been the highlight of my time in Cape Town. An excellent personable guide, showing us the 'real' South Africa, displacing the first impressions, the stereotypes, and helping us to understand and appreciate how the township life works. Seeing the sight of the shanty towns as I first arrived in this city, the impression that made, and then getting to see these areas a little closer really was an education, giving me a greater appreciation for the township people and their community values. This is a tour that I will never forget, and I will never forget how welcome we were made to feel. I will recommend this experience to anyone coming to this country.
