“Decent Hotel”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

The hotel is conveniantly located. Nice decor and the room is very comfortable. It has excellent views of table mountain and is close to most major routes. They offer a 5km radius transport service which is very handy. It has a lovely pool and a small handy gym that has the necessary equipment.
The service however needs to be worked on. I stayed there for 4 days. On the second day, the bathroom was not cleaned. I had a parking bay at the hotel and they spelt my name incorrectly (This was corrected after I notified the hotel).
The staff at the breakfast restaurant werent the most friendly, they seemed abit glum and one of the chef's was worse. I am vegetarian and since i was eating the same meal practically everyday for breakfast (note: they do not change the breakfast menu day on day) i noticed that the every second day the meal was horrible. The fried potatoes and mushrooms were oily and the baked beans were tasteless. The bar staff at the top of the hotel were excellent. Polite and efficient.

Room Tip: Get a room that has a view of the mountain, its beautiful

I am in Cape Town quite often and I always stay here. It is a really cool hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They make you feel very welcome, like they are really pleased to see you back.

Good location, great burgers and the roof top bar is really nice for a sundowner or nightcap. Always good to open the curtains as see Table Mountain, or clouds and rain.

Nice big showers, too!

If you get parking on level two, it tests you driving skills a bit as it is quote cramped, that is the only small flaw.

Wi-Fi is okay, not spectacular but it works. Location is spot on, you can walk to the Convention Centre and even the WaterFront if you don't mind a little stroll.

Been coming here for a quite a while and not likely to change.

Location, Location, Location at an affordable price. This hotel is located at a prime area in Capetown and is walking distance from most of the nice places, Long Street (Bars), Green Market square (Local Shopping) and V&A Waterfront. They have a free shuttle to drop and pickup from the waterfront which is amazing. The rooftop bar and restaurant has phenomenal views of the table mountain. The rooms are clean and room service is great too. Its just 5 mins walk from Civic Center, which is where you can take the bus to and from the airport costing just R57 per person. All in all a great stay.

Fantastic view of the mountain from our room. Lovely decor and gorgeous room, really lovely bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, great choice and well presented. Only bad bit was our room service meal, badly undercooked but it was promptly deducted from the bill with no fuss. The roof bar and terrace was lovely but hold on to your hats as it gets very windy! Would definately stay again. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Well done .

My wife and I selected Park Inn Foreshore basically because we could stay there virtually free using Carlson Club points and our expectations were not very high, knowing it to be in the business district. Upon arrival, everything turned out a lot better than we had expected. We were directed right to our reserved parking spot in the hotel's garage (a steep drive, for the adventurous driver - but they will park or get your car if you wish), got checked in by probably the best hotel receptionist we ever met (Chanise Dourando, if I'm spelling correctly). A fresh, customer-oriented and extremely well-informed young lady who welcomed us with a room upgrade (the hotel was fully booked, and she apologized for not getting us an ever bigger upgrade) and explained that there may be some noise in the morning due to the Cape Argus bicycle race that would start right in front of the hotel (they served breakfast as of 04:30). Anyway, having been welcomed so friendly we found ourselves in a brand new looking, very spacious business class room with excellent facilities.

The hotel has a shuttle service, a Mercedes limo, to take guests free to any location within 5km making it a perfect way to get to the V&A Waterfront. There is, however, only one car, and although we were able to use it several times over just a few days a second may be a wise investment in the near future. On the other hand, a taxi to the Waterfront is ridiculously cheap at R30-60 (it all depends on the driver, whether it is a metered taxi) and amply available. The downtown area is only a block away, and could easily be walked (we walked from the company gardens to the hotel without a problem). So, the location is very convenient and also really close (a short walk) to the Capetown Convention Center.

Breakfast in the hotel is of excellent quality, and the rooftop bar with a tiny little plunge pool is nice enough for spending that one lazy afternoon with a book, some drinks and a snack. Comfortable seats and friendly service, once again, plus a gorgeous view of Table Mountain. Our flight back to Europa was a night flight, and with the hotel fully booked there was no option of a later-than-noon check-out, but our car could stay in the garage, our bags were kept in storage and when we returned a 7pm our car was swiftly brought out in front and we were good to go. Very comfortable, extremely efficient and providing service with a smile throughout our entire stay. Who would have guessed we would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. Excellent choice for a couple of days stay in Cape Town.

Hello there Netherlands!!!

We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Your experience is what we strive to offer to all our guests. That said, we always pay extra attention to our Club Carlson members. We see Club Carlson members as part of our Carlson Rezidor family.
The entire team is very pleased that you had such a pleasant trip.
Thanks for the feedback.

The location of the hotel is aweome, few minutes from V&A Waterfront and City bowl.
Thestation is just 200 yards from the hotel. Friendly staff, value for money (book on discounts online). Airport transfer are very expensive - take the my citi bus (R50) or even a cab (R260) is cheaper.
Make sure you get the road side view, from where you can see the Table Mountain! Walking distance from the hotel is Long Street (Nightlife).
The area is safe, but it is SA so you have to be alert!
The parking is a rip - off! The bar and the rest are expensive but beautiful rooftop bar!
All in all a good stay!

Room Tip: Road side room - will ensure Table Mountain View! Higher floors have better views!
