The bus has an odd design - there is a strip across the window at eye height which meant it was difficult to see out the window. Visibility out the front is poor and I felt quite car sick at times.
The website needs to make it clearer than many of the Baz Bus destinations actually require a separate shuttle to get there, and that the shuttles are NOT FREE. In fact, some of the shuttles are VERY EXPENSIVE. Baz Bus should make sure that the hostels do not charge more than 50 Rand per person for the shuttles.
Some of the drivers made unscheduled stops to drop certain people off at specific locations which were NOT on the list of affiliated hostels (including the military barracks in Durban). This was infuriating, as it made the rest of us arrive late. Also, the drivers wouldn't make special stops for normal travellers, it only seemed to be people they were friends with or connected to somehow.
The price of the 21 day ticked isn't much cheaper than hiring a car and is much less convenient - Baz Bus advertises that you can hop on and hop off wherever you want, whenever you want. This is misleading as the services only run every second day in most places and, as stated above, the Baz Bus doesn't even drop you directly at some locations (you need to get a separate shuttle).
