Owner description: The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

“Wonderful! well done Cape Town”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

We live 5 minutes away from the park and our son goes there every morning to play in the toddlers play area - it's just wonderful - great for kids to have a play with other's the same age - the city have really made an effort with this park. We love it - thank you.

“Fab for kids”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

With two amazing parks for kids of different ages, great running trails (kids can use on their bikes) and carefully considered planting and maintenance, this is an excellent spot for a morning of fresh air with your kids. Small cafe has just opened at the bigger kids' park (very close to the toddler park), which is great for moms desperate for a coffee and snacks. Super safe and clean.

“What a surprise”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

One of the best things to come out of the 2010 World Cup. So much thought has been put into it's design and it is a joy to walk around the biodiversity garden and so informative. It is safe and lots of friendly security attendants. This will be a truly outstanding park as it matures and Capetonians should feel proud of it.

“Undoubtedly the best urban park in South Africa!”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

This is the most eco-friendly and amazing urban park.
Very informative - especially if you have children.
They have a great deal of information presented in a fun and interesting way!

Lots of activities, from an out-door gym, sun dial, a coffee shop, walking trails... its just plain awesome.

A MUST!
