Good place to stay near the water V&A. The customer service was great! The ladies were very helpful and friendly. We had a good stay and would recommend it to anyone. The only negative thing is that the entrance is not on the road and when the van picked us up it couldn't get to the main entrance.

Stayed here three nights while in Cape Town for a conference. The room was spacious and well-furnished, the staff were extremely helpful with dinner reservations and suggestions, and just out the restaurant doors and down the hill is the V&A Waterfront: bars, restaurants, shopping, and the ferry to Robben Island are all within 5 minutes. Downtown Cape Town is only 15 minutes walk along the canals. The Springbok museum is next door and a brief taxi journey will take you to Camps Bay or Table Mountain Cableway. You can pretty much see it all from here. My only criticism would be that because all the room surround a central atrium/lobby, there was a bit of noise in the evenings and mornings so for going to bed early or sleeping in late, this might not be the best place. I slept fine and was busy between work and sight-seeing, so it didn't matter much to me.

This Boutique hotel has luxury, location and service. I spent several nights here. I wanted to compare this property with its sister property (Dock House--see excellent review).
Not sure which to focus on: Service, beautiful rooms, luxury attitude or location. Each of these categories are excellent. Service is professional and attentive, rooms are beautiful, entire attitude is luxury but not pretentious and location is terrific.
Stay here and stay at the sister property (dock house)

Lovely hotel. Appears to have been recently refurbished. The rooms and general areas were very well finished with high quality materials and furnishings. The staff were very friendly. The location is perfect just across the road from the V&A. Breakfast was great. We sat outside for 2 hours over breakfast watching the V&A wake up !
Really cannot fault this hotel. Will definitely come again.

Room Tip: Get a room at a slightly higher level overlooking the V&A as you get a much better view.

We stayed four nights and enjoyed every day! The
hotel is very elegant with large and well furnished rooms and the staff was excellent and helpful (e.g. restaurant recommandations). This was topped by the unique location - just a few steps from the Waterfront. If you go to Cape Town don't miss this place!

Love, love, love this place! Fantastic property, beautiful room with stunning bathroom, well designed common areas, quiet & relaxing but very luxurious atmosphere. But what stood out most was the exceptionally friendly, helpful & charming staff. Honestly the best hotel experience I have had in years, if not ever.

I absolutely love this hotel - I stayed for a night whilst in Cape Town and would go back in a flash.
Great staff, rooms were well appointed with chic, elegant furnishings. The bed was so comfortable & the shower was huge. I had a direct view of Table Mountain from my balcony, with floor to ceiling windows - exceptional.
We had a wonderful breakfast the following day with a really good selection.
One of our group had the Presidential Sute - what can I say. This room is AMAZING so if you're going for a special occasion I would absolutely recommend booking this if you can, it was truly special with wonderful 180 degree views of the waterfront & Table mountain.
It has a great location to get to the shopping centre & bars/restautants.

Room Tip: Go for Presidential if you can - a truly superb room!

What sets this unique five-star boutique hotel apart is the attention to detail given by the creative team responsible for its development, who achieved this through their unwavering passion for awe-inspiring design. From the creative brief of ‘where classic elegance meets contemporary design’, every effort has been made to ensure that the 35-room Queen Victoria Hotel is a haven of calm, luxury and understated opulence amongst the hustle and bustle of Cape Town’s popular V&A Waterfront. The interiors create an ambience of peaceful elegance, through the use of greys and taupes, marble-clad walls, crystal chandeliers, white marble and wooden parquet flooring, not to mention the triple-volume foyer with its dramatic white spiral staircase, glass lift and crystal chandeliers. The signature shade of deep purple has been employed to add a touch of regal eccentricity as an ode to the historic figure after whom the hotel is named. From the food and beverage offering at the hotel’s restaurant and bar, Dash, to the interior aesthetic, the Queen Victoria Hotel embodies a sense of international flair fused with local flavour.
