La Boheme is a wonderful dining experience at below average prices. The service ( thank you, Dorothy), was great and the menu had a range of delicious options. I enjoyed the duck which was cooked to perfection and served with delicious vegetables. The restaurant has a great vibe and is well supported by the locals. Be sure to book a table to avoid disappointment.

We were very impressed by this restaurant. They offer a à la carte menu or you can choose a starter and a main for only 110 R, if you add a desert it is 135 R. We had the beef carpaccio and the vegetarian gnocchi. Very delicious! The also offer great wines. The staff was very helpful and the service was good. If you want to go there, make a booking. This place is even very busy during the week. Highly recommended. However only 4 stars, as the ingredients are unfortunately not the healthiest.

I have been going to La Boheme since it started & am always impressed by the quality of the food, the competent staff, the good wines, the selection of dishes & the incredibly good value! They have kept their 2 course menu @ R110 (3 courses @ R135) for years now, when the rest of Cape Town keep on putting up their prices exorbitantly. Their success is reflected by the fact that the place is packed in the evenings, making booking essential. Lunch time is a quieter affair & the time I enjoy, when you can sit on the side walk, watch the world go by & enjoy an excellent lunch or just have tapas.

I had dinner with starters, mains and dessert of course. We sat outside in the enclosed area which was a bit quieter than the inside of the restaurant and it was enclosed and loaded with heaters so it was warm. The service was excellent and efficient and the staff constantly scanned the tables and were there on demand. We had the terrine and carpaccio starters that were really good but the main with the fillet with mushroom, risotto and balsamic reduction was what we will return for. We had the tiramisu and brand butter pudding for dessert and the latter was the gem. Strangely enough for the quality of the meal the service and the experience the price was very reasonable. In a city where a meal can be quite pricey this was a refreshing change. As a Gautenger living in Johannesburg this restaurant is now my Cape Town favourite.

Wide selection of wine with a seasonal menu that leaves little (if anything) to be desired for! At R135 you can enjoy a 3 course meal or for R110 (~$11) you can enjoy a 2 course meal.
We had the sesame fish cakes and pork belly main -both were delicious! Highly recommend this place.
