We booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 2 nights. Huge and extremely luxurious with a large balcony, king sized beds and 3 bathrooms. Lots of lovely touches including a massive bath and large walk-in shower in the main bedroom.
The apartments are in a long line of apartments but the closest to the restaurants and shops at the waterfront, next door to 'The one and only' hotel, where we were offered breakfast. Therefore, it is only a very short walk to the attractions of the waterfront!! All very safe with several security gates and doors to go through to get in and out. Great views of the water network from the balcony and views of 'Table Mountain' from the front car park.
We did not find a supermarket, but there is allegedly one nearby. The apartment comes with tea/coffee/ sugar/ long life milk, but could do with some dishwasher tablets.
The Aquarium is close by and is worth a visit for a couple of hours (R80) and there is lots of African enteratinment happening all the time at the waterfront. We were lucky enough to get up Table |Mountain and had fantastic views - we got our tickets on the morning from reception - meant we did not have to queue. Also took a tour to Cape Point - fantastic - especially the point itself, Chapman's Peak and the penguins at Boulders Beach.

We spent 5 nights in a 3 bedroom 3 bath apt in Lawhill B building. Lawhill B is the last apt inside a gated apt community. Our room number was 404. I am usually a skeptic person, so even though the apt has the word luxury on the name, I was not completely believing that it would be a luxury place. I was wrong, it is a luxury apt. Very beautiful location, in front of the canal, practically next to everything in V&A waterfront (restaurants, shops and shopping malls, ferry to Robben island, Two Oceans Aquarium etc).

The apt itself is huge, with a balcony the length of the apt itself. The view from the balcony is superb. The weather was very nice when we were there, so we simply just opened the balcony door/windows to let the fresh air in, and did not use the AC at all. The rooms are all good size, the master bedroom is huge. There is a flat screen TV in the living room, and another one in the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, one room has 2 twins and one room has a queen size bed. 2 of the bathrooms are en-suite. The kitchen has everything you need (toaster, microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, oven, all the cooking equipment and dishes and silver wares). There is also a clothes washer and a dryer in the kitchen. The beds, bedding and pillow are very comfortable. The rooms all have plenty of storage space too. There is a safe deposit box in the master bedroom. There is also a hairdyer in the room. The apts have some european plugs - not all plugs there are South African. That is actually a nice feature.

The "front desk" - located in Lawhill A building is 24 hours and they are very nice. There is also a pool (not heated) in Lawhill A. Cleaning is done daily and they did a great job.

Location: the location of the apt is about 5-10 mins from the center of V&A waterfront. It is ideal. You don't want to be too close to the center due to the traffic and noise. But you want to be close enough so that you can walk there quickly. You have 2 options for to get to the center of the waterfront - through the front (the main road) or through the back - walking next to the canal. We always took the back way and enjoying the view of the canal. It is a very safe area, and we always felt very safe walking back and forth to and from the waterfront, even at night.
There is a Pick and Pay grocery store at the Victoria Mall, we bought bread and OJ for breakfast there. Pick and Pay also carry a good selection of wine, and the price is excellent. There are a lot of good restaurants in the waterfront areas, it is hard to imagine you have to go somewhere else for dinner..

I would highly recommend Lawhill Apts. I have to thank our travel agent - Kate from Go2Africa for her recommendation of this apt.

Room Tip: Higher floor for better view

We stayed at Lawhill for five nights having been on a very luxurious safari in Zambia and Botswana. We were so happy when we arrived. The front desk staff, especially Marlon, were excellent answering all of our queries thoroughly, booking car hire at a reduced rate and arranging airport transfers. They were also great with local information about where to shop and eat. We had a two bedroom apartment which was just lovely, very modern, light and airy and big enough to live in full time. The balcony facing the One and Only hotel was huge and gets the sun for most of the morning.

Security around the whole aprtment complex is excellent. All in all I have to say that after visiting the One and Only I would honestly rather stay at Lawhill, you get the same great location, views of the Waterfront and excellent daily housekeeping but a much more relaxed environment and a feeling of being truly at home (a very up market home that is!). Great value as well so couldn't really ask for more in my opinion.

the location was nice and rooms were big and clean. However, the air conditioner in one of the rooms did not work for the entire trip.Had to call repeatedly to ask someone to repair it and their standard answer was that ' this is the best it will cool' - when clearly it wasnt even working and the acs in the other rooms were working totally fine.

Great location. Nice sized apartments. Clean, very luxury. 5min walk to the waterfront for food , drinks and shopping. The complex does not have any eating or drinking options so either go down to the waterfront to get what you need or eat at the hotel next door. Oh the walls are a bit thin you could sometimes hear the people next to you.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views.

Spacious, stylish accomodation in a great central location that appeals to adults. Massive balcony with great views. It's so central you don't need to self cater because there is so much so close and it's a great base to tour from. It's also great for those with young families to have the facilities available for when they can't wait for breakfast, lunch or dinner out. Also great if combining a number of places, e,g, safari and/or wine lands with a washing machine and tumble dryer so you don't need to take so much luggage. We stayed here between the wine lands and safari and it was perfect for us as a family. The only issue was the en suite shower was blocked and despite reporting it it remained like that for all 3 nights.

I took my staff & their husbands to Cape Town for our year end function and we stayed in Lawhill Apartments. We had an amazing time! It's located right next to the famous One & Only Hotel and you overlook their spa area located in a beautiful garden. The apartments are clean and very well equipped for self catering. We were 3 couples and stayed very comfortably in first class luxury. The location is central and very close to the Waterfront. We will definately book here again!!
