If you stay at the Holiday Inn (pretty good, no complaints) you won’t be eating at the hotel, there is no restaurant. From the hotel, literally on the corner just outside, is the optimistically named ‘Gourmet Chinese’, with the claim of being the best one in town … how to prove?? but none the less should be good. It’s not a spectacular setting or layout inside, something of a café feel but it’s clean and tidy. But the food – it’s very reasonably priced and excellent quality. The three of us, including two French really liked it, the cooks made relatively ordinary selections very nice. Service was excellent, the food very big portions and the calamari in white pepper and salt, and scallops in chilli delicious. Go for it.
