Finally got round to trying this French inspired steak/frites venue and were not disappointed. We happened to be in town and needing lunch, co-incided with a Springboks vs Australia and so city centre was pretty empty, with everyone at home doing their braai. Although we were the only ones in for lunch at 2.15pm, we had fantastic service from Eric. Starter salads were crisp and refreshing, although it would have been nice to have had a little less Iceberg lettuce and a little more Cos ( one large token leaf). The steaks were great: mine a medium rare and my husband's medium - cooked to perfection; accompanying French fries were superb, as was the Cafe de Paris butter sauce. Attentive service asked if we required a top up of fries and sauce, at no extra cost. All washed down with a very drinkable red blend, with 'good legs' as the wine tasters say. Restaurant is inside an old building, and so found decor a little gloomy for day time. But all in all, it's a will go back for us. They also do a 2 for 1 on a Monday evening, so the R169 becomes R85 each. Good work, HQ.
