There's no need to go into detail about style (you can read plenty on that topic). Whatever your opinion on the trendy restaurants in the Madame Zingara stable, the substance ie. the food, is consistently excellent - hard to deny that. Admittedly I haven't explored the whole menu - always find myself ordering the mouth-watering Surf and Turf.

Although always jam-packed we've never booked, and somehow always been lucky and seated at the same table in the tiny triangular "honeymoon suite" upstairs. For such a busy restaurant the service is not bad.

This is a quirky, fun restaurant with pleasant service (slightly slow ) and huge portions of relatively tasty food. I wouldn't eat here again and I wouldn't recommend it as a tourist, but if I lived in the area and it was my local restaurant if probably go there a few times. Not my cup of tea but overall a positive experience.

We started our meal with the Beer battered camembert which was delicious. The bruschette plank was also very tasty. However the service was very poor and our waitress was pleasant but inefficient. Waiting 20 minutes to get a beer is not acceptable. The main courses were a rip off from a price perspective. The ribs were very tasty but come on !! - surely you can serve them with some vegetables or chips ? A plate of ribs with a dollop of coleslaw on top of the ribs is not acceptable for the price you charge. The pork belly was not crisp and two slices of pork belly on some foccacchio with coleslaw for over R140 is a rip off. The overall impression was overpriced and not worth it considering that there are so many better places in Cape Town. Bombay Bicycle Club is riding on the back of the Madame Zingara theme but they need to reconsider their offering - average value for the price. We were disappointed

Really had a great time at Bombay Bicycle. The food is out of this world with dishes like a chocolate chilli steak. And the vibe is also great.

Interesting place, but not sure what all the hype is about. Food is ok. Prawn wontons ok, calamari starter great. Venison good, ribs good. Service very slow and inefficient, cramped tables. Bit all of the place. Decor and vibe the best part.
