“Nice but Old Cape Quarter Piazza next door, MUCH nicer!”
Review of Cape Quarter Mall

This is a nice small mall in the heart of Cape Town on Somerset Street, with a beautiful open Square on the inside. The Spar is amazing!
But the REAL GEM however is the smaller original Cape Quarter PIAZZA next door on the corner of Dixon and Waterkant Street (just across the street from the mall).
It is really quaint with a European feel. It has a beautiful open piazza with a huge pepper tree in the middle. Great place to have a meal.
It has good restaurants like the cozy Le Petit Tart (best carrot cake I ever ate!) and Andiamo (Italian) There is even a traditional Halaal Cape Malay restaurant (authentic Malay food, but no alcohol served), Beautiful art shops, Lindt Chocolate store (with amazing specials!!), the cute Baraka Gift & Decor (original and inexpensive gifts), African Nova (amazing ceramics), a perfumery, hairdresser, a dentist and even the oldest gay bar in Cape Town!
De Waterkant neighborhood is a beautiful little neighborhood full of character and atmosphere, with cute colorful houses (Walk down Waterkant Street and Loader Street - it is safe and fun)
We like the area so much that we bought a house here!
Definitely a must visit when you come to Cape Town.

What a great little find. Been going to Cape Town for several years now and never knew it existed. Sunday is the best with the market. Great little food stalls with an excellent atmosphere supplied by a dj playing very cool music. Well worth the visit

The Cape Quarter is an interesting small mall on the edge of the city centre but walkable from downtown. The shops are quirky and fun and there are several places to eat and have a coffee. A supermarket on the ground floor has an excellent selection of food and takeaway food. Very good kitchen shop too.

I love this mall! I always find the best of everything there! Located in the gay quarter of Cape Town, you will find fantastic gifts, unique gadgets, amazing food, a decent bottle of wine and a bubbly crowd. Only downside is in summer, there is an inside misting system that can wreck havok with your hair. Recommend a cute sun hat or a "plat-Anna" look instead for these occasions.

Great lifestyle and shopping destination. We stayed at the beautiful Cape Quarter Living apartments upstairs. Conveniently located. Great boutiques and restaurants in the square level. You must try Artjamming where you can just walk in, buy canvas and paint - great for kids, teens and adults alike. The Spar supermarket downstairs is superb and opens till late - 9pm. Awesome deli and great wine selection but be sure to get there before 8pm during the week and 5pm on Sat because they do not sell wine past these times. Overall, an impressive lifestyle and shopping space. Love it!
