We were in The Hyde for 7 nights in total at the begin and the end of our tour through the Western Cape. A very nice hotel with all comfort in a very good location. The rooms are very nice, however the bedroom is rather small, but the living space and kitchen are great.

The staff is professional and very helpfull and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. We will be back whenever we return to Cape Town.

The suite concept is comfortable and the decor is attractive. The breakfast buffet was good. Staff was helpful and pleasant. And the price for the room was very good. I would give this place a fourth star if not for a few issues. To begin with the bedroom is almost claustrophobic in size and while you do have a living area, it is actually tricky to walk around the bed to the bathroom. As well, the bathroom lacks decent ventilation, and ours had definite signs of mould in the shower, unfortunate for a fairly new hotel. I would stay here again in spite of these issues.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet location and were on the 6th floor which was quiet.

Good Day and Thank you for your comments on your stay at The Hyde. Im so pleased you enjoyed the comfort, food and service of the Hotel. I think you will be happy to know that we are already half way through the winter renovations of our bathrooms. All the showers have been re-done and the walls and roofs are also getting re-painted. I look forward to welcoming you back to see the improvements. I wish you the very safest travels back home.

Thinking back on my short stay at the Hyde, two words come to mind. Convenience and Luxury. Convenience because the hotel is just a few steps away from the V&A Waterfront and Open Top Bus Stop. Also close by are many shops / restaurants and the Sea Point Ocean-front promenade. The area is quiet and I awoke to the sounds of the ocean and seagulls.

The word luxury comes to mind when I recall our lovely suite with an ultra modern kitchen / lounge area and comfortable separate bedroom. Every convenience is modern and classy. A review would not be complete without mentioning the friendly staff and the excellent breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel for both business and tourist travelers.

We just returned from our African vacation and I rushed to write my first review ever, because this was such a great experience! From the moment that we arrived and were greeted by Jason, we felt taken care of... After our tour did not show up on our first day, Leon called the tour company and found out that our trip had never been booked. He swung into action and booked us another tour with Moji, an tour operator who also works as a concierge at the hotel. We had an amazing day and it was a fraction of the price of our original group tour. Later in the week, we were scammed at an ATM. Again, the staff helped us tremendously and made every effort to help us feel comfortable again. Did I forget to mention how nice the rooms were and the daily breakfast?! If I return to Cape Town, there is no question where I will stay. I know that I'm not alone as many of their guests are return guests.

Everything about this hotel made our stay memorable and enjoyable.

From the beautiful surroundings, the lovely building, to the friendly staff and delicious food.

They made us feel so welcome it felt like home. We bought DVDs and when we got back to our room, they'd set up a dvd player for us.

Thanks so much for an amazing stay Hyde Hotel and Staff.

We stayed for business and were ideally located to access city and other parts of Cape Town. Staff were very professional and friendly. Very modern facilities. Bedroom rather small, however the lounge makes up for that. Secure parking.

Good Day Patrick Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor. Im so pleased our staff looked after you so well. Im sure you will be happy to know we upgrading some of our Deluxe Suites to Executive suites. The new room will offer a bedroom size three times the size of the deluxe bedroom. We are very excited about this new addition which will be available soon. I hope I can offer you this alternative on your return trip to Cape Town. Warmest Regards

We travelled as part of the group and our accommodation was booked through one of the touring couples through connections. This connection turned into a great plus for us. This is a wonderful small hotel in Sea Point and the accommodation and breakfast facilities are excellent. The bedrooms are not large but the beds are very comfortable and the living area makes up for the lack of bedroom space. Every staff member was polite and incredibly helpful and always greeted us, morning and night in a friendly manner. The hotel is situated on a side street just off the main seafront drive so when catching the Hop on Hop off bus, we just walked down to the sea front and along about 100m to the allocated stop.

We were able to organise trips to the cape and also to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek winery areas through the hotel. Through a partnership with a wonderful tour company headed up by Mohedien Noordien (Mo) which has a desk at the hotel, all of our airport pickups, transfers around the city, delivery to and pick up from activities and restaurants, and tours were all centrally organised and taken care of. We just had to turn up on time and were whisked away on another wonderful part of our adventure. Our amazing driver, Terrence Andipatin, accompanied us on two of our days out and was able to relay so much information to us. He had encyclopedic knowledge of South Africa, Cape Town and everything we seemed to want to know. Terrence also suggested alternatives to the set route as he began to pick up on what we may or may not be as interested in. His alternatives were always stunning additions to our day.

Thank you Raymond, Manager of the Hyde and to Mo and Terrence for making our stay so amazing. We came away feeling like we knew Cape Town and the wonderful surrounds very well.

We recommend: Plan your trip and have an idea of what you like doing and then let Mo and Terrence assist in a tailor-made sight seeing agenda.
