Cool spot in a previously undiscovered part of Cape Town. Room was huge...although view wasnt too much more than another high rise with a peek of the ocean. Breakfast buffet was pretty weak, but the server was the nicest woman ever!

Price was very competitive and there are some cool restaurants in the neighborhood...just a bit of a walk to the V&A or probably a taxi for most. Swimming pool watson the rooftop and seemed very nice...but it was a bit too chilly to use it

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hyde thanks to the great and friendly staff(Jason super) clean large and modern room. Great free shuttle service to the Waterfront in the morning and in the evening. Very good working free wifi in the lobby area. We had a great stay and we will be back.

Stayed for 3 nights with my wife and really enjoyed fantastic Cape Town and this very good hotel. I like the modern style, the professional service, the "feel at home" atmosphere and particularly the location: I had some really good walks on sunset because the promenade close to the hotel has beautiful sunset, plenty of people jogging and bars at walking distance. Hotel apparently heard some previous reviews regarding breakfast and during my stay I enjoyed good choice and variety and much better the smile every morning from Jackie. Used the shuttle to downtown and the driver gave us valuable info that made our trip more enjoyable and safe. I had a car and had access to the garage at no charge, very convenient. Coming back to Cape Town much probably will stay there again.

Overall: Wow! We paid no more than $115 a night to stay here and it was amazing. Clean, HUGE and comfortable rooms, great service & location!

Location: A block from the promenade that runs through Sea Point. Great area to stroll through. We walked along the water all the way from Sea Point to the more touristy V&A Waterfront Area. During part of our trip, we stayed in the city center, and I much more preferred this area. Also some very nice restaurants in walking distance (must try: La Boheme)

Rooms: Very large, apartment style quarters. We had a regular suite and we had a separate bedroom (bed was VERY comfortable), livingroom and fully equipped kitchen, so you can make your own meals if you prefer. Accommodations were very clean and modern. Bathroom had regular amenities and rooms come with a hair dryer as well. AC worked well and you can get wifi in your room, but you need to use a cable.

Staff: Superb. They spoke English very well, which you might expect, but in another hotel we stayed at, staff's English was poor. They front desk staff was always very helpful and genuinely nice.

Amenities: Wifi access in common areas & rooms, breakfast included (nice breakfast, nothing amazing), pool on the roof

Other: If you have the time and want a GREAT Capetown tour, go with Cape Convoy tours, with Rob. Best tour I've ever had.

As we had only booked an initial 3 nights and decided to extend (for another 7) we had to spend one night at another hotel as the Hyde was full on the first additional night. Unlike another reviewer (who was moved due to overbooking) we were very happy with the one night alternative, which was at the same hotel as the other reviewer slated. The staff provided a free transfer there and back and were very helpful. Although breakfast was very good other meals were average. Location is good with access to the hop on hop off buses as well as local buses. The hotel are happy to provide transport elsewhere and the cost was the same as a taxi, and more convenient. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. On the downside there is no real lounge area or views from the lower floors and although there is no wifi residents are given limited free wired internet access which lasted us 6 days and top up was not expensive.

Room Tip: Bedrooms are a bit small with overly large lounge/kitchen. Lower priced rooms have larger bedrooms...
