I recently accompanied a large group of Americans to the Gold Restaurant. Their premises are stunning!
The ambience is ekectrifying and the program very powerful!
We were in awe of the tribal costumes the staff wore, they dress in Mali tribal clothing.
First of all we were taught and entertained to an interactive drumming session. Thereafter we were seated for dinner. The dinner consists of many small dishes of African food brought out for us to try. The little sample dishes were good. The main course of "Malay curry, was not great, too much spice and nothing malay about it. By the way, this was the only negative comment!
Thereafter we were treated to tribal dancing from Mali, complete with huge puppets dancing along as well. This was absolutely fabulous! To end of this dramatic evening, a sangoma or traditional healer, came out in a gown spun with reds and gold thread, she had gold mesh disks on her eyes and as she did her powerful dance she spread gold dust every where!!! Overall verdict, a smashing show, all foreign visitors shiuld enjoy this special performance. We loved it!!!!
