At the recommendation of some other people at the hotel- we ate lunch here. The waiter was very helpful and friendly, and my friend loved the mushroom risotto. Very reasonably priced as well.

Thank sethness

A reunion of dear friends. Our accents were Irish. The wine suggested by our waitress cost over R600 a bottle which even by European standards would be very high for a bistro. Our glib, easy come easy go waitress took our orders and then avoided us as we sat drinking our wine - we ordered a R200 bottle and left the gold-plated one to age a little longer. We waited an hour between starter and main course. When we managed to claim her attention she delivered a cheery brush-off comment that our food was “on its way” which it clearly wasn’t. At our next attempt to get some food to go with the wine we had ordered we were told breezily that it was being plated… when it clearly wasn’t. We left feeling frustrated and exhausted by the effort required to be heard and responded to. The food we’d waited so long for was disappointing. Duck was tough, salad a dismal arrangement of rocket with a few tiny pieces of fresh fig – smothered in a salty dressing which I had specifically requested was to be left on the side. Has the management become complacent? Staff training given the emphasis required to deliver food to the tables with courtesy and attentiveness to the needs of the customer? There are so many good restaurants to choose from in the Mother City. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Thank Ingrid H

A gem of a restaurant tucked away in Orange Street. The peppered steak was one of the best I've ever had; so much so that I had it again a few days later when we returned to the restaurant. The service was prompt without being rushed and the waiters friendly and knowledgeable. Eating outside on the patio was very pleasant when the evening was warm, but the inside tables were just as comfortable. Others we spoke to had also had excellent meals there and it is a restaurant we will use again when we return to cape Town.

awful service.....bad attitude..if i was visiting cape town avoid this restaurant..
because previously i returned a steak as it was overcooked..they instructed the waiter that i was not allowed to order steak again in the restaurant...the waiter said its was with management..then when i spoke to the manageress on duty she said it came from the owner..i requested to speak with the chef ..she informed me the chef was off duty..
shocking just shocking.
