“Good Asian fusion food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

Great Asian food, just gets a bit pricey. They have a star system for pricing which gets a bit complicated and leads you to perhaps order more than you would otherwise. The waitress tried to convince us to order the set menu, which is quite expensive. We decided instead to ordered off the a la carte menu and shared various dishes.

The highlights for me were the tuna nachos, salmon with huzu sauce and the duck pancakes. Dim Sum was also very good.

“Amazing vegetarian food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013 via mobile

The vegetarian variety of food at this place is incredible. Portions are not small tapas but main dining portions. (But still try what you can of course!) Service is a bit slow but overall food and ambience is excellent. Definitely value for money as 2 persons dinner came to about USD40-50.

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

The name 'Asian tapas' is slightly misleading, as the portions are actually 'normal'. I started ordering way too much food, but luckily our waiter told us re the portion size.
Everything tasted delicious, it was very quiet (only two tables) so not too great an ambiance, but still a nice setting and the service was good.

“Avoid at All Cost”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

We were three people seeking a pleasant evening with Indian cuisine. A waiter seated us at the chinese section - not a good start. The menus are illegible due to them being inside opaque plastic sleeves. There are no prices - only a complicated star system to calculate how much items cost. The staff were arrogant and unhelpful. Our second waitress tried to persuade everyone to order double portions as she said the portions were very small. The portions were in fact more than adequate, but their prices are a rip off. Bukhara has really done themselves a disservice with this restaurant which smacks of arrogant exploitation of an existing good reputation. Never again.

“Good basic pan-Asian choices...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

We had a choice of ten restaurants reserved by our conference organiser and choose Haiku as we craved Asian food. The restaurant is located on the Waterfront of Table Bay and half inside a mall. In a warm interior friendly service staff greet the patrons and quickly put one at ease. Menu's and pre-dinner drinks come quickly.
The menu is extensive (www.haikurestaurant.com) and has something for everyone. We choose a variation of Dim-Sum, Sushi and Sashimi in large amounts and had no main course. All dishes absolutely met a high standard of international cuisine and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Looking at the other guests, the restaurant is well suited for a business dinner or family do. Children are very welcome.
