“Great location with a view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2013

We stayed in the Mountain view appartement (self-catering) and the view was just stunning! CPL is located in Gardens, meaning that Long Street / Kloof Street is basically round the corner. The appartement is on the first floor and all the windows face table mountain. The balcony is a great spot to sit on and enjoy the views and a good glass of wine. The apparement is well fournished though we found the kitchen could do better with a properly installed stove instead of cooking plates - taken into account that it is rented out for self-catering. Lena is very helpful and we could even leave our luggage at the B&B for the whole day before our flights.

Room Tip: As the appartement is right under the roof on the first floor it might get rather hot during the sum...

We stayed here for three nights at the end of a three week African vacation and we were quite impressed with the location and rooms. Rooms were very clean and the surrounding neighborhood was a pleasant surprise after J'burg. My only concern was the parking situation. When combined with the right-hand drive vehicle, it was challenging to maneuver in the tiny parking lot. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful with recommendations for local restaurants and sights. There are some restaurants nearby, but some of the more popular spots were a long walk away. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't as cooperative and our plans had to quickly change. If we make it back to Cape Town again, we will definitely consider Cape Paradise Lodge.

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every single day in this nice and wonderful accommodation. Lena was such a helpful and friendly host, super great! The location is clean and near downtown, you can even walk to the close by restaurants... Our room had a fantastic direct view on the table mountain and downtown. Lovely breakfast... Summa summarum: we will be coming back!

Room Tip: We choose room number 5, the Perlhuhn room...

We stayed at Cape Paradise Lodge for ten nights. Fantastic view of Cape Town, the bay and Table Mountain. The staff is nice and friendly; premises are kept spotlessly clean. There are often orange-breasted sun birds in the flowers beneath the window and lots of squirrels in the trees; one night we were even greeted by a scorpion in front of the house. Guests can park securely behind a gate. Just great.

The one thing I did not like were the smoking guests on the verandah, at times we had to sleep in our room when it smelled like a bar; not nice at all. Thank goodness for the two very cute dogs; they managed to make up for the disgusting cigarette smell.

We enjoyed our stay in the Cape Paradise Lodge very much - we started our South Africa Trip there and Macro told us everything we needed to know about Cape Town and the Garden Route.

We liked it so much, that we came back some weeks later, when we returned from our round trip in South Africa.

The breakfast is very good!

The rooms are big and you can see the table mountain (if it is not cloudy) - also you have a beautiful view over Capetown.

The hosts are very friendly and have always a good advice for you.

Perfect start for our holiday in SA! Really nice helpful and witty hostess! Beautiful room with stunning views of Cape Town! Easy to get to the restaurants, lots of privacy, really good breakfast with very good omelette, honesty bar, nice pool (although we didn't use it). Nice dogs! Just perfect!

A nice stay very close to Table Mountain and not too far from downtown.
We can't say anything about the B& B because we were staying in one of the apartments (rhino apartment). The hosts are extremely friendly and were helping with advice concerning restaurants and activities. The apartment section of Cape Paradise also has a pool - but we didn't use it because it just wasn't the right season... The apartment itself was nice - if you don't mind that there is no TV and only one very small table.
