We went to Karibu due to the wonderful view and location at the Victoria Wharf, although not expecting too many options as my husband and I are vegans. We were very delighted and surprised that even though the menu is of traditional local dishes (most of which contain animals), there were also options for us, and they were truly delicious, for a fair price.
Our waiter, Clever, was so friendly and helpful, that we had a most pleasant lunch.

We decided to visit Karibu more so as it would be a truly South African experience.
Receive a friendly welcome but service was really not the best after that.
Food was decent, but was really not too impressed with the steak.
My son ordered a Malaysian chicken and it came with only 2 small pieces of chicken… waitress did not really check on us and when she eventually came and my son complained, she said that he should have told her earlier… and she did not check on us

Really delicious food and so freaking friendly service, can’t remember to had such a good service in a long time. Our waiter (his name was Clever) was just so kind. Recommended! PS: try the Lamb with mash, it was delicious!

We had a wonderful experience today at Karibu - we had high expectations after our driver recommended we visit for a taste of authentic South African food and Karibu did not disappoint.

From the moment we arrived our server, Clever, was warm and attentive - Clever made some excellent recommendations from the menu and we opted for a special meat platter after his advice…it was excellent! An absolute feast, and we devoured every morsel. Starters were also excellent - the trio of Briout and the Malay Chicken salad.

What sets Karibu apart was the staff - Clever pre-empted our every need and is truly exceptional at his job. Would recommend to anyone looking for a taste of South Africa, with a view and excellent service!

Absolutely incredible. One of my highlights from my holiday. Tiana and staff looked after me like I was family.

I cannot thank Tiana enough for what she did for me today. Gave me a proper history lesson about the restaurant, explaining the intricate design though process which was incredible. She even introduced me to the managers brother! Could definitely tell she had a pure passion for the place, which is remarkable. You won’t find many individuals like her, she’s honestly a blessing to the place.

And Bradley (my server), I think that is his name. Tremendous member of staff, who deserves the world. He made sure everything was well and regularly checked up on me to ensure I was satisfied with the service. Which allowed myself to feel so relaxed and feel like I was at home.

To the food now, as a foreigner I was really spoilt for choice. But from recommendation from staff. I was able to make the right decision. Food tasted like heaven in my mouth, all these exciting combination blended so well.

Overall, a beautiful restaurant. May God continue to bless all the members of staff there !
