A visit to CT without going to the Buzeby Grill is not an option... Jimmy is still there and going strong with his usual flair. We had an enjoyable first night back in CT and tried to gain entry to be notified ' we are not open till 6pm'..... obviously we returned and had the usual goregous steaks. we were fortunate when we visited as Jimmy and co were going on vacation for 3 weeks the following day!!!!! Keep up the good work Jimmy and Staff. EXCELLENT FOOD NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!!

Buzbey Grill has been in Sea Point for as long as I can remember....and that's quite some time. Jimmy is still manning the grill that is located in one corner of the room. He greets a lot of patrons with handshake and a couple of words...you know you are in a comfortable place. The decor seems to come from the '70s and Jimmy seems to have been around for that time too. But you don't come here for the decor or the frills. Meat with a capital M is the name of the game. Jimmy will cut your piece of meat to order and then prepare it with the hand of many years of experience....perfect. But also the other food on the limited menu is prepared well. The sardines starter is chillied and the meat falls from the fish-bone....great. The salads are basic, but fresh and crispy. Deserts are again basic...but sufficient: Ice-cream with chocolate sauce, chocolate mousse etc. Standard beers come from the bottle and the wine list is middle-class, but like everything else very reasonably priced. If you don't like it, bring your own: The corkage is again very reasonable. So...avoid if you are looking for haute cuisine where you pay for the design of your dish more than for the substance; go if you are hungry and look for an excellent steak in a congenial atmosphere and don't want to be overcharged. Nice!

A hidden gem. Faded old world continental decor but one of the best value for money treats in Cape Town. Grill house with crisp white damask table cloths. The corkage is very reasonable and the steak and chips are simply delicious !

We went on a Tuesday and the restaurant was filled with locals who seems to know where to get a lovely steak for a reasonable price. Ambience OK but could improve, however, the steak made up for it big time. Had the 220 fillet ... beautiful! Wine list reasonable, to too impressive though, so if you love wine, maybe rather bring your own (corkage ZAR 15). Will definetly be back!
