An exceptional property near to the Waterfront. View of Table Top Mountain, and canals through the property. The entire hotel is gorgeous, and the staff is very helpful and professional. The meals were delicious, and the Concierge Desk is able to help set up a private driver if you wish. First class operation.

We recently spent 11 nights at the One and Only. Every little detail from the gowns for our 2 daughters to the lovely welcome gifts for them to the Lindor chocolates at turn down were such treats. The staff at breakfast couldn't do enough for us and made us feel like royalty. Once the chef knew about our various food allergies and restrictions we didn't want for anything and they went out of their way to accommodate us.
I spent a morning at the spa which was heavenly and, again, was treated like royalty. My treatment was perfect in every way.
As others have mentioned the hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the V & A Waterfront. We felt completely safe walking there at night and it was a pleasure not having to worry about finding a parking space.
Our room was lovely, excellent bathroom and plenty cupboard space and we had a wonderful view of the penguin enclosure at the aquarium. We didn't make use of the kids club as we were out most days.
All the staff from the doormen, reception, waiters etc were so warm, friendly and completely on the ball.
All in all we had a wonderful stay there and we can't wait to go back!

The small detail of each guest’s stay is what our One&Only properties are known for and when our guests notice these we are delighted! You have certainly experienced the best our resort has to offer. Hopefully the young ones will inspire mom and dad to come back and visit the KidsOnly club; they are very excited to meet them!

My husband, five children and I recently spent a week at the One&Only Cape Town. The location of this hotel is great as it is in the waterfront. The hotel is new, clean and very pretty. The staff was great however we did have some issues when we checked in (thanks to a communication glitch between American Express and the hotel which was eventually resolved). Our rooms were large, modern and had a lovely view. Breakfast was incredible! We also really enjoyed eating at Nobu (also in the hotel). I would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend The One&Only Cape Town.

We thank you for taking the time to write about your experience and highlighting the issue experienced pertaining to your arrival.
American Express utilized an alternative booking source to make your reservation at the resort. The request for two rooms was unfortunately not communicated to the hotel, however we are very pleased that we were able to accommodate your original booking request. Your comfort is most important to us and we are thrilled that the spaciousness and luxurious interiors of our rooms added to your experience.
We are delighted with your positive recommendation and look forward to seeing you and your family return to the resort in the not too distant future!

One & only is such a professional organisation.
We were upgraded to a one bedroom island suite which which equated to no fighting for the remote as it had an extra big screen for the kids.
The room was on a waterway with its own private balcony to relax & catch some rays.
The Spa was one of the best I've ever been to, with a tranquil vibe & enough space to totally relax.
Kids club was a little cramped, but the kids did not notice & the staff were wonderful.
Pool was lovely, but had to restrain the children from causing havoc, more of an adult environment.
Rueben's had great steak, but the hotel did not notify guests of the functions taking place.
Nobu's was my kind of restaurant with amazing Japanese food & bento boxes for the kids.

Room Tip: The island suites are to die for

We are very pleased that you and your family had a relaxing visit and that you left us feeling pampered and spoiled. Our world class facilities do not only cater for mom and dad but for the young ones in the family too. Our KidsOnly club, oversized pool and convenient location to all the popular activities in and around Cape Town make for an unforgettable breakaway. Having two renowned restaurants under one roof certainly gives our guests the best of both worlds by showcasing South African flavors in Reuben’s and international flair in Nobu. Our Nobu team is thrilled that they are your favorite dining destination and look forward to serving you again.

Stayed for a total of over 3 weeks at the One & Only on a 6 week South African holiday with our 4 young children and nanny, and although we would rate this hotel highly, there were a few issues which could do with some improvement.

Rooms: Large and nicely furnished, hi-tech lighting with all the mod cons. Stayed in 3 different suites connecting to a double room over June and July, and the Presidential and especially Table Mountain suites were just fantastic. Beautiful views! The last leg of our stay we stayed in the Marina suite, which was also large but the bed not as comfortable and on the 2nd floor so the views not as nice. Shame about those condos framing your view of Table Mountain.

Service: Really a mixed bag. There was some serious confusion and mistakes with our billing both on arrival and every time we checked out- changes in pricing we weren't told about, meals and items billed to us by mistake (guests with the same surname!). Some of the front desk staff were not so helpful and got rather aggressive, while some were excellent- friendly and efficient. Some of the maids servicing the room were lovely and made a real effort to make your stay better, some just scowled and were obviously not trained well (twice we came back to the room and we had no towels in the bathroom!). Doormen were all very friendly and genuinely warm.

Food: Nobu was excellent, Room service and Reuben's was mediocre. Room service got our breakfast orders wrong most of the time, but when we would call to fix it, they did so quickly.
Bar was nice, especially with the lady playing live music on the weekends. Interesting selection of cocktails made very well (bloody lekkers!) but bar food just ok.

Spa: Highly recommend the Bastien mani pedi. Very good!

Kids Club: Excellent. Really lovely ladies working there, they were great with the different crafts and activities, our kids loved it.

Location: The best thing about the hotel! Walking distance to the V&A with all its shops and restaurants, right next to the Aquarium where you can hop on the city bus tour, 5 minutes from the CBD, not far from Green Point and a very safe area to walk around in at any time of day.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor, and if they offer you a good deal on a suite upgrade, take it!

We appreciate your review and thank you for taking the time to communicate your full experience with us.
We apologize if there was confusion with regards to upgrading your room types, however we are very pleased that agreement could be reached and that you had the opportunity to enjoy two of our top suites at the resort.
As you mentioned, we pride ourselves in the friendly and engaging service of our One&Only team. We regret that any perception of our team members came across as anything but that.
The inconsistencies mentioned regarding the quality of food in Reuben’s, Vista Bar and In Room Dining have been taken up with the relevant management and we thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We value each of our guest’s feedback as without it we cannot provide an enhanced experience. Thank you once again, we appreciate the time you have taken to highlight your areas of concern and we are awaiting your return in anticipation!

Everything was excellent!! Rooms are clean, very big, with all comforts. staff so friendly and the restaurant was very nice. The hotel is located in the center of the waterfront, so you don't need to take any cab. Just have a walk. The spa was amazing, i enjoied a lot.
