Our family of five spent four nights over New Year at this beautiful lodge/B&B and enjoyed it very much. The quiet location at a 20 min walking distance from V&A was perfect for us. The little pool and the sun deck was a nice place to spend the mornings as well as the afternoon after activities and in the night after dinner. The invisible border between inside and outdoor of the breakfast room was fabulous. The host's sense for art and culture in every detail was admirable and the cheerful and friendly staff made the whole stay very pleasant. The rooms were nicely decorated, comfortable and very clean, bathrooms small but ok. We give this B&B our very best recommendations.

Philip and Eunice made us feel more than at home. The service was extraordinary! The rooms were absolutely sweet.

Service and location better than most hotels!

We loved Eunices fresh breakfast.
We loved Philips spleen for antique suitcases.
We loved the Romney Lodge.

We will most certainly come again and recommend the lodge to anyone!

Thanks for a great stay!

When we entered the house we already knew that we had made a good choice. Phillip has made this place into a little gem, we were impressed by the attention to detail and décor. The house is one of the oldest in this part of town and the mixture of old architecture with partly modern interior and art was stunning in our opinion. Phillip is a great host who will also be able to help you out with maps, activity and dinner suggestions.

The location is great, easy walking (or short cab ride) to the Waterfront. There is also parking available, so no hassle if you have a rental car.

The rooms are wonderful. We had the luxury suite (I would love to live in it!) and also a standard room that was smaller but equally nice. The common areas are also beautiful, we loved to come home after dinner, relax on the porch and browse through the coffee table books with a cider.

Finally, breakfast was a delight! Mama Eunice and Simon are so much fun in the morning and they cook up a hot breakfast that will keep you full. Breakfast starts already at 7 (until 10, I think), this is great as you will be able to get an early start into the day in case you have planned a trip to Table Mountain or the cape.

If we go back to Capetown, we will definitely stay here again!

Me and my daughter arrived on the 16 Oct 2013, to a warm welcome from Mum Eunice. Our room was even ready before check in time, so relieved. Our room beautifully furnished, loved the decor. simple and classic. Breakfast well served. My daughter enjoyed her stay, not far from the stadium since we came down here for Rihanna concert. Location was perfect.. Will definatley stay there again.

I have tried many B&B in cape town and for the first time i got so disappointed with my booking. When we arrived at Romney Lodge at 10 pm nobody was there to open the door, the owner was sleeping and not answering the phone. The luxury suite was dark, the closet smelled so bad we had to keep the clothes out. Every morning we had to wait 20 min for breakfast because there are less table than guests. breakfast is quite poor and it's impossible to sleep well as at 6.30 in the morning the staff starts walking up and down outside your door preparing the room for breakfast. It is well located, but there are many other b&b -hotels int he same area.
Overall a poor experience, no value for money

Many thanks to Phillip and his staff for making our time in CT most enjoyable on our recent stay.An old building of great character fully upgraded,Romney Lodge ticked all of our boxes.Within a walk or taxi of the Waterfront, why spend quality time in an anonymous hotel?

We arrived and were met by the owner Phillip who took us to our room- what a surprise- it was beautiful- large, spacious with a fireplace and beautiful hand made bath- big enough for two! Even though the property is in the center of Greenpoint we could have been on a farm it was so quiet and secluded. This must be one of the best, most convenient places to stay when visiting Cape Town. I will definitely come back here and recommend it to friends and family.
