Description: Sevruga is a culmination of a lifetime of work, and our complete dedication to perfection. Although perfection is almost always a step away, we always endeavour to exceed your wildest expectations, offerings lush interiors, exquisite dining and an intimate atmosphere seating up to 350. From the New York style entrance, polished marble and solid wooden floors, to the fabulous American walnut bar counter and designer chairs with opulent, imported fabric, it is clear that no expense has been spared. Our philosophy when creating Sevruga was the same as when we create our signature dishes. We use the best possible raw ingredients, combined with professional and creative suppliers and craftsmen to create a truly amazing experience. An elaborate menu offering a vast array of wines and meals ranging from humble dishes to taste sensations, with more complex tastes and flavours. The service is relaxed yet professional, while the view from both inside the restaurant and out on the terrace, will take your breath away! As part of giving Sevruga customers an all-round experience, a Functions Manager for tour and incentive groups is always on hand and, from the entrance to the kitchen, Sevruga has steadfast principles in place to guarantee an over-all experience of grandeur. With especially designed set menus, we can cater for any function. It's no wonder that every now and then we are delighted to have famous faces, both local and international, grace our establishment. A-list Hollywood stars such as Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart and Tom Hardy, have been spotted dining at Sevruga, as well as our beautiful Benoni Blom Charlize Theron. You never know you might just bump into Brangalina! "The only reason to visit the V&A Waterfront". - The New York Times.

The menu very creative.
We went a big group of 13, we love the service, the wine and the food. Good sushi, good pasta, good meat and good fish, we were very happy and enjoy our meals. We recoment this restaurant to go, and very good location, at the waterfront mall.

We booked Sevruga as they advertised a "gala" evening for New Years Eve. We prepaid for a 5 course meal with welcome cocktails and canapés. There were options for each course except the first. I had 3- cheese beignet, oysters, trio of sushi, springbok fillet as my main, and lemon posset for dessert. Along the way we sampled beef potstickers and some other canapés I cannot remember. Had a glass of Glen Beck sparkling rose. The beignet ad sushi were good, however the oysters, while good were tiny ( and only 2 in the serving). The Tabasco jelly that came with it was interesting. The main courses were dull, my friend had beef fillet with foie gras pâté which tasted too gamey and not fresh enough. Desserts were not bad. There were no festivities, but just before midnight they opened up the terrace so we could go watch the fireworks. I thought the restaurant would have a direct view of the fireworks but we could only see them from outside as it seems to be on a lower level ( felt basement like) so we had to peer out at an odd angle, and this in cold gusty weather. The food felt corporate, like we were in a convention centre rather than a restaurant with a chef who cares. Given what we had paid, they totally undelivered and we will not be back.

Unfortunately Sevruga managed to deliver service that was not to our liking before we'd even eaten, so we left without.

Concierge at our hotel booked us here and we arrived excited and looking forward to what they said was very good sushi and seafood. The restaurant as bustling and we were 30 minutes early so we could have a drink at the bar. Reception was brusque and a little arrogant but we thought little of it.

We sat at the bar and before we had a chance to order we were told our table was ready - half an hour before it was due. At our table, where we found the menus were made as part of a magazine (felt like they were trying too hard to be fashionable) we sat for a good 15 minutes without any attention. There were plenty of staff swarming around although they seemed quite smug and not necessarily engaging with any customers. None of them appeared to think they were looking after us.

I called for a passing waiter, who I think was actually the young Måitre d' and asked if any of them would like to get us a drink. He said yes and I asked for a Manhattan. He said they couldn't do a Manhatten, only what was on the menu. I said I was certain the could make a Manhattan, it is a basic cocktail and he went off "to see".

10 minutes later, two cranberry and vodka's arrived - described as a Manhattan and a Cosmopolitan. They were neither. The young Måitre d', asked if I wanted a Manhattan because I was from New York.

We sent the drinks back, left 200 rand on the table for their trouble and left. We had a nice night in the nearby Nobu.

I can't rate the food as we didn't get to try it. Atmosphere and service were just not to our taste.

Really causal hangout! The Ambience was buzzing outside as we watched the runners relaxing from their 10 Km Sundowners Run.

Nice spectacle to watch the world go by on Quay 5 & merrymakers making a fool on themselves on the passing yachts.

Great sushi, dimsum & main courses at very affordable prices. You needn't break the bank to dine here.

We'd a lovely waiter called Simon who was attentive to our needs. We had the Sevruga Sushi Platter & the Tempura Crayfish as starters which was a very healthy portion.

The lamb shoulder was slow cooked to perfection & also in a very healthy portion.

The bill was presented with jelly beans to end the dinner which was a very sweet gesture.
