Description: Addis in Cape! Voted best African Eatery in Cape Town, an authentic Ethiopian restaurant that caters for Non-vegetarian, Vegan and Vegetarian clients. We provide a unique communal dining experience you, your family and friends will remember. From traditional hand-wash ceremonies to our traditional Ethiopian coffee we promise a memorable experience. Ethiopian cuisine is famous for its rich aromas and generous use of herbs and spices. The country was historically situated on trading routes that included the trade of many exotic spices; this history has had a tremendous influence on the taste of Ethiopian food as we know it. Today most of the herbs and spices are blended and prepared in the home with great love and attention, as are those used in Addis in Cape. The dishes that you taste here are unique to Ethiopia and we are proud as a restaurant to share them with you.

Spent a week in Cape Town - what a great place for food and every type of cuisine you could ask for. Tried this Ethyopian restaurant (Addis in Capa) one night and had a great meal. Its ina good location on the main bar and restaurant drag in CT. You eat with your hands so they start with a hand wash and you get a kind of soft tortilla to pick the food up with. We had the multi-course vegi meal deal with some meat courses washed down with some of the excellent local SA beers (Black label or something similar?).
Excellent attentive service and food comes promptly - really enjoyed the taste and textures and the whole experience. Was R850 for the 3 of us - may be expensive for the locals but that about £62 - excellent value for a Brit!

Very nice food, nice atmosphere even though it was a bit quiet and the kids absolutely loved the food and the eating experience.

This restaurant is an absolute hit with our family and visitors. The food is tasty and authentic, and the staff are hospitable. Don't miss the Ethiopian coffee complete with popcorn. The lunch menu is a bargain.

We had great Ethiopian here the other night. We got the veg platter plus a couple of sides and we literally ate the table cloth. In addition, they bring out little appetizers that are not on the menu that were absolutely delicious. The decor is cool. They have done something creative with colorful parasols with their light fixtures, so the lighting is nice. One disappointment was that they didn't have any Ethiopian beers on the menu, but I had a good South African one, and that was good too! The place was empty the entire time we were that - couldn't believe it.

We went to this restaurant during our holiday in South Africa and really liked it.
We had never eaten ethipian food before, but it was really good.
The menu has very good choices, with spicy and not spicy options. The prices are good and there are lots of different combo options.
The service was excellent, and the restaurant itself looks nice.
Just be aware that you sit very low on the floor and eat with your hands, might not suit everyone.
