Wanting to spoil ourselves after having a bereavement in Cape Town, we booked in for 4 nights.
Our suite was nice and roomy and the bed very comfortable. the first evening we had room service, trying to understand the butler with awful noise in the background we eventually got our food. My club sandwich was cold and the meat inedible!
The housekeeping was under niveau...not properly cleaned, wastebin in kitchen not emptied and when I complained they said it was a new maid and would send someone else the next time.
This was not such an improvement. The water in the shower still did not drain and the W.C kept running....no handyman there??
the staff is very friendly, but their training is poor. S.A pull your socks up if you want to make the 5 stars....we have lots of experience in S.A and wonder whether this is 5 star worthy.

I was there in November for 4 days for Business, and took my wife along. Downstairs is great, with a nice cocktail bar, and very friendly managers and staff. There's a lounging terrace out front, where you can also eat Breakfast (very nice, by the way). Parking under the hotel is excellent. Reception are very amenable, and the Concierge can quickly get you cars, arrange spa trips for the ladies etc. We asked for a car each evening to go to dinner, and we were taken in the hotel's Jaguar, which was great. We had a two bedroom suite; very nicely appointed, but the bedrooms had no windows and the noise from the atrium (spectacular, but a total echo chamber) was relentless at night. Our bed was a 4'6" small double, so one of us had to move into the other room or neither of us could sleep! Such a shame, because its a very stylish establishment, but if you can't sleep that sort of negates the purpose of an expensive hotel!

I stayed here with my husband and 2 adult children for 4 nights in September 2011. The suites are ideal for couples and families alike. We were in the two bedroom deluxe suite; both bedrooms had en suite facilities - There was also a kitchen with fridge, cooker and washer/dryer. Very handy on our last day when we were able to wash clothes prior to flying up to the Kruger National Park. Each suite has access to a butler and any issues were dealt with immediately. We had breakfast in the hotel and it was excellent; food is cooked fresh from the a la carte breakfast menu. The courtesy car is available free of charge within 5km of the hotel which is great if you wish to shop/eat at the V&A waterfront.

We have booked to return in September 2012.

Upon arrival, (after the hotel staff realised we were actually checking-in) we were greeted professionally with refresher towels and drinks and became very friendly. The suite we had was a modern upscale apartment with a kitchenette, washing machine, big plasma TV in both rooms and several balconies with a city and mountain view, as we were situated at a corner of the building. We booked a wine tasting tour at the front tour desk which, was through the hotel and we were privately driven to 3 vineyards by Peter. They said the tour included all entrance fees to the wineries but that wasn't true we paid extra, and then we paid for lunch on top of that (and for Peter too!).. The price alone for the tour was 2850R so pretty steep but it was fun nevertheless. It was a nice treat, in a central location and we were looked after well, but don't expect low prices!

Room Tip: Room 715 is a corner suite with beautiful views and balconies.
