I have now stayed here a few times because of the very home like atmosphere and friendly staff. The rooms are spacious with stunning view of the mountain. Owen the owner takes pride in his B & B and always oversees that his guest are comfortable. Highly recommended accommodation.
Great value for money.

I had a comfortable, peaceful stay at Cape Riviera. The bedroom was very large and comfortable, and the bathroom massive - with bath and big shower. I was left to myself, but knew that the management was around if I needed them. The TV wasn't working when I came in late on my first night, but it was sorted out the next day. A lovely, peaceful area of Cape Town, with the Molteno Reservoir - a perfect jogging track (and one of the only flat places to run in Cape Town!) - directly across the road. An easy walk or drive down into town.

We suspected that the overall quality of our stay could ony prove a far cry from the immediate impression of Mediterranean charm. We were wrong ! We arrived during one of the wettest winters in Cape Town history, but that didn't detract from the pleasure of staying at Cape Riviera. From the very start, we felt very much at home. The staff were charming and extremely helpful, and conversation came easily and without any awkwardness. We got on extremely well, and to say the experience was a 'home from home' would be no exaggeration. If we hadn't had a full programme of visiting across the city and suburbs, we could easily have soaked ourselves for days in the atmosphere of this grand house. Our room was lovely, spacious and full of the same charm as elsewhere in the house -- a credit to the extension which stayed marvelously faithful to the original section of the property. The only slight drawback (and this was only temporary) was a rather cold dining room in the mornings -- yet this was put right when the open fire was lit ! The owners have already lavished much care on the house, and it will be interesting to see how it looks when the current (May 2013) renovations are complete. Would fully recommend this property for guests looking for a blend of Cape Town charm (both with the property itself as well as the staff), a comfortable and relaxed stay, and superb proximity to the city. We left with happy memories, and look forward very much to the next time !

I visit Cape Town from the UK on a regular basis and always stay at Cape Riviera. The rooms are beautiful whether in the old house or the fantastic extension at the back. The staff are very welcoming and make one feel at home. It also has the most comfortable and luxurious beds you can find.

A real gem.

I have stayed at Cape Riviera on an annual basis for the past ten years. It's a beautiful property offering sweeping views over the city, Table Bay, Signal Hill and to the south Table Mountain. Situated in Oranjezicht a leafy quiet, upmarket suburb, it overlooks Molteno reservoir, and is within a 5 minute drive from the City Centre and Waterfront.
It's a haven of tranquillity with a beautifully established garden and extremely friendly staff.
The new General Manager Michel is friendly, professional and extremely efficient and along with her Deputy Manager Anien and Eric ( the night porter) they made my most recent stay there the best ever!
On this occasion I was travelling with my elderly parents; everybody went out of their way to make their stay as comfortable as possible, from insisting we park our car in the undercover parking, assisting with luggage, ensuring they were accommodated in a room with easy access to the lift, arranging ordering "dinner in" for them as they were exhausted from a long journey that day and were too tired to dine out. We requested to have breakfast on the patio, and that was seamlessy arranged with beautiful flowers, fresh from the garden on the table to greet us when we came down for a later than usual breakfast. That too was no trouble at all Thank you so very much; I can't wait for my next visit.

First impressions were excellent. Good quiet location within easy reach of Cape Town. However, air conditioning did not work (as it was Saturday no progress until Monday). Superior room was clean but did not expect to have to ask for soap to be refilled. This does not mean that it is not a good place to base yourself. In other words, an attractive place but the service was not up to a good standard.
