stayed at the Camps Bay Resort over xmas 2010 and the location was perfect for first time visitors to SA like us, as it was perfect for exploring the city from without having to stay downtown. It is right across road from beach beside all the best restaurants and bars.

The studio we got was very basic really. Quite a good sized room and a decent sized kitchenette. Very poor bathroom though.

Major drawback was the noise from the street though! The windows kept no noise out at all so the noise of the bars at night and the noise of the bin men in the morning made it very hard to sleep.

On the positive side the staff were very friendly and the pool was a decent size by SA hotel standards. Also there was no food available in the hotel itself so we were given vouchers for Primi Piatti next door (a cafe chain i think) and the food and staff there were incredible - by far the most friendly and entertaining we met. A major plus point for this hotel

Given the price of everything else in Camps Bay this was good value accomodation on the whole but could do with upgrading the standards of the rooms.

The resort apartments are a great base for exploring Cape Town and it's environs - friendly, helpful staff, clean well equipped apartments and splendid pools and grounds. Breakfast at a neighbouring Cafe - Primi Platti was a delight too - sea views and animated staff.

We also received a complimentary bottle of champagne
as we were on honeymoon.

So close to the beach - the excellent Codfather restaurant - and Dizzies Bar - request an off street apartment if you have children or are a light sleeper - did not bother us as we live in London!

My girlfriend and I stayed in these apartments and found them to be spacious and clean rooms, with huge bed. The location is fantastic and the staff were really helpful in booking trips etc. the only issue we had was we were asked to pay for parking but then were told that we had to park on the road, which was open to members of the public. My girlfriend also thought the nearby pub was noisy at night time. However, if you are after good value apartments in a great location then you should consider these. Cape Town is my favourite city in the world.

We had 3 nights booked at Camps Bay Resort as part of a flight package.
On arrival, we were met and checked in by a very pleasant and helpful receptionist. The apartment was very nice, if a little noisy being right by the corner of the main road through Camps Bay.
Breakfast was served at Primi Restaurant justin front of the establishment and this was amazing (not the location, but the food!).
On the secodn morning however, we were awakened at around 9am by what sounded like a chainsaw coming through our room. This we later discovered was due to some refurb work being carried out at the apartment below us. It would have been nice to have been notified of this beforehand.
Overall, the location is very good although it is varied in which block you will be allocated a room.
The beds were comfy and the accommodation was clean, but this is certainly not the best that Cape Town has to offer and was good base for us for a few days.

But, it is Camps Bay and if you want quality here you have to pay a lot of money for it.

A note fo warning: If taking a car and using the resorts car park, be aware that they charge per night for this. We weren't tol dthis at check-in, but the manager acknowledged thsi when the receptionist tried to charge us for it at check-out.

This is an aparthotel with self catering apartment/rooms, so very spacious. Our room (33) faced the main road (M62!) up to the cable car station. There is secure car parking available R50 per day or park on the road. We had booked B&B basis and had vouchers for breakfast at Primi platti round the corner which was excellent. We also had lunch and dinner there during our stay. The other restaurant we favour was Kove, who do a very good fillet steak and line fish (fish of the day). The hop on hop off bus passes the front door and the pick up stop for both routes, blue and red, is just along the front. We found this was a great way to get into Cape Town and look around

We arrived at the Camps Bay Resort on Monday evening 6th September. The location is fantastic but the resort is very disappointing indeed.

After a nine hour flight my husband had to carry our suitcases up three flights of stairs as there was no one available to help.

The patio doors onto the balcony of the apartment would not lock, the shower overflowed. To top it all when we went to reception the next day to see about having the problems fixed we had trouble even reaching the reception office.

There were several workmen and decorators around and dust sheets covering the stairs and decking around the pool area. As the pool area outside reception was the only place on the complex where it was possible to sit out (apart from our balcony) I expressed concern and asked how long the workmen and decorators were likely to be there for. I was advised 3 weeks. I asked if this meant it would not be possible to sit by the pool and was told no (no apology just a firm no) We were also advised that because of the construction work the wi fi would not be working

There were no wardrobes or drawers in the bedroom. The only storage for our clothes in the bedroom was a racking system similar to that which you would expect to find in a garage or shop. This was supposed to be a superior room.

I would not recommend this resort until some serious revamping takes place. After complaining we were relocated to the Crystal apartments which were fantastic.
