Camps Bay Village (Resort)

Our appartment (9 Brighton Court) had a fantastic location overlooking the beach and provided wonderful sunset views. The staff onsite were very welcoming and helpful through out our stay. The appartment was pretty well kitted out with a fully stocked kitchen including washing machine and tumble dryer. There was a large bathroom (shower only) , the whole appartment was serviced daily with plenty of towels. The main bedroom was light and airy with aircon for those warmer nights. Camps Bay has a lovely sandy beach, (although sea is a bit cold !and watch out when the wind blows) ; there is a good range of excellent restaurants and bars all of which are in walking distance, and in addiiton there is a large supermarket. A cab into Cape Town is about 20 minutes and the city tour bus stops on the main road, so getting around is really easy. The breakfast vouchers were grea;; Primi Priatti is just next door to the complex and offered a range of food to meet suit everyone's and the 80R more than covered a two course breakfast.

Defintely a good non frills base and great for a family stay.

Room Tip: Watch the sun go down in a sea front room

Although the check-in made us feel welcome and gave us a feel of comfort, that was the last bit of professionalism we saw. Our room was only serviced after 3 every day, they occasionally forgot towels, linen, toilet tissue rtc. The linen was in bad condition (full of holes). The place was offered as self catering, but I do not reckon a bar fridge and a kettle as self catering. And all this for a ridicilous price of R1900 pn. No, shop around and find something else please. Oh, and they stuffed up the parking, then wrote us nasty letters posted on our vehicles windscreen because of their mistakes. Yes!! Run!!!

Dear Ernie
Our check out time is 11:00 and check in time 14:00 therefore our housekeepers need to focus on the arrival apartments first in order to have the arrival apartments ready on time.

I will address the towels, linen and toiletries with my housekeeping department as this is a service we provide for our rooms that should be consistent.

Please note that we offer a variety of accommodation that varies from rooms (non self catering) to studios, 1bedrooms, 2bedrooms and 3bedrooms that are all self catering.

We strive to provide a high level of service and can only improve on the feedback provided so I would like to thank you for yours.

I would also like to invite you back in the near future to any of our properties on which I can guarantee a more memorable stay.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly on manager@campsbaycollection.com

Kind Regards
Chantel Wessels

Very handy for the beach and restaurants (2 min walk), not what I would call a resort though. It basically consists of several blocks of rooms (more like an apartment block). There are two small pools. We had a self catering apartment which suited us fine. You have access to the pool at the Bay Hotel, but not if you have kids younger than 12 (we did so that was not an option). The rooms were clean and had all the facilities you would need if you wanted to stay self catering for a week (we just stayed a night). Camps Bay itself is fun, quite a few decent restaurants and very busy at the weekend (albeit we were there just prior to New Years). A good stop for a few days at most. Certiainly feels more safe to go out at night compared with the centre of Cape Town, mainly due to the large numbers of people milling around and all the police, which are very visable.

Stayed here 2 nights in November 2012 before making the trek back to the US. Its in close proximity to the main drag in Camps Bay so easy to walk to different restaurants, bars, the beach, etc. Street parking was kind of a pain. I ended up with a room facing Camps Bay Dr. so the traffic was really noisy and made it difficult to get any sleep. The italian place they recommend that delivers isn't very good.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing camps bay dr.

Dear Mr. Clinton
Thank you for your feedback. As mentioned on our website due to the location of some apartment’s guests can experience social and traffic noise. We advise that guests should confirm the location of their apartment in advance should there be specific requirements.

Due to high occupancy and the restaurant being extremely busy there would have been a delay in the delivery service. I will ensure that management of the restaurant looks into the feedback provided.

Kind Regards
Chantel Wessels

I stayed here for one night, and was given Llandudno room, which was at the top of a spiral staircase outside, so no easy to get to, but worth the view. I had a view of the ocean and sunset. The room was small, but had everything you need, TV with DSTV, fridge, kettle and a clock radio by the kingsize bed. Large bathroom with Bath and shower, which was very good. The only downfall, was the very thin curtains, let the light in, so blackout curtains are needed. The staff are very helpful. It is walking distance of about two minutes walk to the main shopping, restaurant area. Also given a card to let you into Bay Hotel beach resort. An excellent hotel in a very good location in Camps Bay for the cheap price of 780 SAR.

Room Tip: Llandudno room is lovely, but very difficult to get to.

Convenient and spotlessly clean, as well as very fairly priced. Surprised by the Rands 80 fee to park inside the compound, and had understood the fee had been waived for me. Nevertheless will be back again despite this misunderstanding.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the road, as can be noisy.

Excellent location, great value for money....highly recommended.

The proximity to all important places of note (table mountain, cape peninsula, restaurants, pubs, cafes etc.) makes Camps Bay Resort an ideal destination for a Cape Town getaway.
