I stayed at Villa Simona in Dec. 2010 and while I enjoyed the hotel, I have had terrible problems with the owner and would not recommend staying there. After we left the owner accused me of taking coffee/tea from the room (which I did not do) and has sent me multiple nasty emails about this. I think she is WAY out of line and very rude. I would not stay there again.

FIRSTLY this place is in Bakoven NOT Camps Bay!!!

When we arrived having to park our car in the street, just after 14h00, we rang the bell for 15 minutes and nobody answered. When they eventually did we were told we were too early and Simona would go check if our room was ready, which thankfully it was. We were then shown to our room and Simona disappeared and we were left to carry our own bags up the masses of stairs.

The room...where to start?
The linen on our bed was old and washed out; our pillows were paper thin and needed to be folded double. The bed frame was rickety and noisy and every time you turned over at night you weren't quite sure if you would wake up on the floor in the morning.

The TV was the size of a kiddies lunch box with bunny ears. Clearly the bunny ears weren't necessary as the picture was still shocking and only received sabc 1,2,3 and 'e'

The 'fully equipped kitchen' was far from equipped. The kettle took coaxing to get going and the BAR fridge took two days to make a single tray of ice. None of the cutlery or crockery matched. The pots that were there to cook in are cheap and nasty, not even fit to be donated to charity. The non-stick frying pan was scratched and chipped and looked like it spent its life being dragged from the back of a car before making its way to our kitchen drawer. Above all of this, there was a stench in the kitchen somewhere that we were unable to trace our entire stay.

The bathroom window is not frosted and one is left to expose oneself to other guests who use the staircase in front of the window to get to their rooms. Our clean towels were hard and ravaged with red stains. Throughout our 7 day stay these were only changed once. So if you were to use the laundry services don't be surprised if you get your goods back 3 days later and with stains!!!

The indoor pool which is meant to be heated...isn't!!!
The gym, consists of a single rowing machine and bicycle and the spa treatments are anything but reasonably priced.

And the cherry on top...she (Simona) had a private function on top of our room waking us up without so much as making us aware of it before hand.

Overall Villa Simona is total rip off and we would have been better off and less frustrated at home.

My fiance and i chose this B&B after discovering it on google. the website promised much, and led one to believe it was a nice place to stay. Prices were reasonable, and there was availability... After communicating with Simona via email there was an apparent misrepresentation or BIG language barrier between english/german. We were told the rooms were 'cool' and there was 'tv' and 'wifi'. Apon arriving it was one disappointment after the next - the linen was OLD and starchy, the bed blankets, pillows & matresses were very thin and worn, the room was not cleaned sufficiently... the kettle inside was disgusting, there was somebodies pubic hair on the shower floor, the toilet wouldn't flush properly (so you can imagine the nasty surprise we got)!! the kitchen facilities were sparse, there was about 10% tv signal due to 'bunny ears' aerial (couldnt even watch!), mosquitos buzzing all night, stuffy and hot as hell inside the room, people next door could be heard talking through the walls, LOTS of steps to climb to get up to the B&B, the view of camps bay is obscured by a big white house in front, parking is on the road... i could go on! but i think you get the picture...

i just want to warn people that write-ups and photos can still obscure the truth! dont believe what the website says - you WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
