I started planning this holiday 15 months ago to celebrate both my husband and my special birthday and the help and guidance given by Greg, the owner was outstanding from day one. After my initial enquiry Greg phoned me to personally make sure all my questions were answered. Such was the service.

Well we are back here in gloomy UK but with a lovely glowing feeling from our wonderful 8 day stay at Atlantic View. We have travelled all over the world but can honestly say that Atlantic View is as near to paradise as we have come across.

Greg and his team (both front and back of house) did everything possible to make our stay and especially our special birthdays special. The hotel is unique, it felt that we were staying a luxurious home but it came with such care and attention.

Our room, the Master Bedroom was beautifully appointed and we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to the Pineapple Suite for the last 5 days. All the rooms and suites are superbly decorated with lovely features and both rooms have amazing views of both Table Mountain and the Camps Bay and the coast line below. Every day we had a lovely breakfast delivered to our room, a work of art on a tray.

In the evening you can mingle with the other guests and try complimentary wines and nibbles at the 'cocktail' hour. A chance to meet new people and discuss the days adventures etc.

The hotel has a fleet of cars and Land Rover available for excursions or just to run you to a local restaurant, Waterfront etc.We also booked trips to the Winelands and Cape Point. Our driver and personal guide Mansur ensured that we missed nothing and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Having read the previous negative review I wonder if the reviewer was staying at the same hotel!

Words are not really enough to say how much we enjoyed our stay at such a stunning hotel, in such a magnificent location and with staff who care about the guests so much. We would have no hesitation in returning and we look forward to telling our family and friends all about what we now call paradise, Atlantic View, Camps Bay

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful with their own unique decor and wonderful views but loved our rooms the Mast...

Don't be fooled, this is not a 5 star hotel. It is a 3.5 star hotel at best! We spent 5 nights at The Atlantic View Boutique Hotel in January 2014. We stayed at 4 other 5 star hotels in S.Africa as well as in CapeTown and they were tremendous and worth their 5 star rating. The Atlantic View doesn't compare at all to our other 5 star hotel experiences at all.
We would have left after the first night but we had paid in full, long in advance to take advantage of the 'early bird discount'! The hotel is a disappointment on many fronts. The rooms were noisy, we could hear our neighbors talking and our neighbor's TV through the adjoining door! We had to enter our room by walking outside the building in the wind and rain. We had to keep our curtains drawn to have privacy in the room, as it opened directly onto the pool area and the staff walked directly past . At least the beds were very comfortable.
The hotel has been decorated in a tacky 80's style with tasteless over-scaled furnishings and fabrics. It doesn't present as a 5 star boutique hotel.
The wi-fi usage has a cap to it, which meant we daily couldn't access all our emails etc. We queried this with reception and were told we would have to pay for exta Wi-Fi usage! None of the other 5 star hotels we stayed at charged for wi-fi! We asked to speak to the manager /owner who was there at the time, but he refused to see us. They finally did reconsider this and we had to call reception each time the wi-fi stopped for them to reconnect us. Very Annoying! The wi-fi kept dropping out.
The staff at reception had a far too casual approach, albeit friendly! There is a lack of professionalism overall. The ground staff wondered around in tacky torn old clothing, and should at least be in a casual uniform of sorts as expected in a 5 star boutique hotel.
We were charged extra for parking our car on their property in the car-park! We were not told this prior. We could have parked just down the street for nothing!
The location of the hotel is not at all good! It is too far away from the city, waterfront and Camps bay beaches.
I wouldn't waste your money at this hotel. It is certainly not 5 star.
All in all it was a rather negative experience!

Room Tip: Don't stay at this hotel it doesn't deliver!

My second visit to the Atlanticview in Camps Bay was as special as the first. It is such a beautiful facility, with a perfect location on the foot of Table Mountain. The views, of both the mountain and the sea, are practically next to none. I don't know another hotel that can boast about such beauty. And on top of that, if you want a good customer experience, then staying here is a must. The staff are all very friendly and efficient, which, believe me, can be hard to come by in SA (the efficiency part. Friendliness is in abundance).

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Atlanticview. We chose it for its location at the bottom of Table Mountain and ocean views, which it certainly lived up to. Looking out across the infinity pool we enjoyed what is arguably one of the best views one can experience anywhere. Just stunning! The suite is quaint, luxurious, artistically decorated and spotlessly clean; bit snug. We enjoyed morning walks down the winding roads to share excellent coffee at the “vida e caffe” on Victoria Road with the many cyclists from the area, and were up to the challenge as we worked our way back up the steep incline to the hotel to be served a sumptuous and beautifully presented breakfast. Service is discreet and friendly. We were however very frustrated by the poor wifi service offering, which did not match the standards of other less expensive places we visited on our travels in SA. However overall an exceptional experience.

Absolutely fabulous 5 days from our pick-up at the Airport, lovely welcome and fabulous upgrade to the Infinity Suite. The Hotel is set up on the hill above Camps Bay with wide wonderful views and the most amazing decor at every turn.
This was our second stay with Greg and his Team, although I missed out on meeting Greg again! All the staff here are wonderful making you feel very special from carrying your luggage, cleaning your room, breakfast service, taxi trips, restaurant recommendations and bookings, Sundowners and personalised Wine Tours with the lovely Mansur and Cape Tours.
As I said this was our second trip to Atlanticview and it will not be our last.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful

My best friend and I stayed there a few weeks ago, after a week safari, and could not wait to get to Cape Town. We were upgraded to a suite and the room was amazing. Greg and his entire team are available to help with any and all planning to make sure to ensure a great experience. We booked in advance and Greg was amazing every step of the way. The breakfast were very good, and the late afternoon wine hour was my absolute favorite! We booked a day tour with them as well and it was absolutely wonderful. I def recommend booking the wine tour and cape of good hope tours. I will definitely be coming back next year, to make more wonderful memories. Thank you Atlantic View for everything!

Don’t stay here if you prefer a dull, standard box hotel room, down on the V&A waterfront with no view. However, if like us, you want outstanding luxury, unbelievable views and terrific service then this wonderful hotel has the lot. For the same price! We got a suite with expansive sea view, our own deck space and pool, breakfast in the room and friendly staff at our beck and call. Felt like rock stars! We also booked the extended check out and personal chauffeur to the airport which finished our trip in style. Overall it’s not cheap but it is real value for money. Will definitely go again.

Room Tip: Sunset suite has more deck space and better views than the others
