“Fantastic !!!!”
Reviewed August 31, 2007

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week in Aug 07 and absolutely loved it. We stayed in the mountain view room, it is well decorated with a good view. Across the hallway was access to a balcony that gave you views of the fantastic sunset. The people who run it (Steve and Merryl) were on holiday themselves when we arrived, but the couple who looked after us (Mini and Pick) made us feel so welcome it was like we were family. We will definately go back and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in camps bay for a very good price.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in Sept 05.
Cannot recommend it highly enough - friends and family have stayed there since - they are of the same opinion.
Great staff - especially Corrie the manager - very helpful.
Our room was the deluxe suite - great views out to sea ( whales were seen) - 5 minute walk down to Camps Bay itself , where there is an abundance of restaurants.
Wonderful holiday - shall return in 2008.

51 on Camps Bay is a fantastic guest house. Firstly, Camps Bay is a lovely area - close to the waterfront, yet with a great personality and vibe, safe, and with a great choice of bars and restaurants. Also it is beautiful with a lovely long beach! The only downside is it's really windy, but please trust me don't let that put you off.

51 on Camps Bay is only a few minutes from the beach and is furnished to a high standard. The room we stayed in had a view of table mountain and was comfortable and spacious, with a tv, stereo and mini fridge. It also had a shower and large bath. Their breakfast was nice, with a wide choice of options. Overall it is good value for money, but the best thing about 51 was the friendliness of our hosts, in particular Corrie. Corrie was very helpful, suggesting things to do, recommending restaurants, and generally a friendly face to see at the beginning and end of a day sightseeing.

Go there you wont regret it!!!! Don't stay in a hotel by the waterfront or something equally ghastly, guesthouses like 51 are what a great holiday in SA is all about

We stayed at 51 on Camps Bay for the final week of our trip to SA. It's a lovely little privately run guest house a few mintues walk from the beautiful beach at Camps Bay. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and asked if we wanted to relax with a drink before going to our room, which after our very long trip we were glad for! For the whole time we were there both the owner and the mamager were very attentive but without being at all over-bearing or pushy. They really make you feel like you're one of the family. Nothing was too much trouble and Corrie the manager went out of his way to help us out with various things which were surely above and beyone the call of duty! All in all if I were to return to Camps Bay I wouldn't bother looking for anywhere else to stay. 11 out of 10.

Found the details of this small, unassuming, yet upscale guest house on the web - very good website, but not any reviews that I have managed to find. Thought I should write one.
ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL! The rooms are splendid, luxurious and if you get the deluxe suite - you will not want to leave the room - unless it's to sit on the balcony overlooking the stunning Atlantic Ocean reflecting the best African sunsets imaginable. Service is superb - efficient staff and friendly management make you feel 'at home' even though you feel pampered at the same time. Close to the beach, restaurants and mountain attractions - it's a hidden jewel on the Cape Coast well worth a visit.
Small, intimate and friendly home away from home, with a touch of class. Highly recommended.
