Wonderful location, great sea views and so comfortable. This guest house goes the extra mile to make your stay a memorable experience. Both Merryl and Corrie made us most welcome, greeting us on our return each day, nothing too much trouble, restaurant and excursion bookings always arranged. Our room was serviced to an exceptionally high standard. Central location, restaurants only a short stroll away. Peaceful setting, great views, can't recommend highly enough.

Room Tip: Choose the honeymoon suite for extra privacy, superb accommodation and great views.

We would not hesitate to return to ' 51 on Camps Bay ' . Our room was very comfortable with great ocean views. The en suite shower / wetroom was spacious and spotlessly clean, Little flower arrangements adorned surfaces , pillows , towels - a really nice touch. The breakfast was excellent.Saving the best till last, the manager , Corrie , was most helpful and courteous . He made reservations , recommended places to see and restaurants to visit. In short he was the perfect host
The location was some ten minutes walk from the beach and seafront .

We haven't stayed in a B&B for many years, usually preferring hotels. The price of hotels in CT made us rethink that, and we were so glad we did. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay.

Corrie, the manager made us very welcome and was incredibly helpful with suggestions about where to visit, eat etc and made several restaurant reservations for us. All his recommendations and suggestions turned out to be spot on. There were great views from the balcony or swimming pool and although you do get a little passing traffic, it was really relaxing.

We loved the Camps Bay Area which is very safe and much preferred staying there than in some of the busier CT areas. Camps Bay is laid back, with some really good restaurants and bars within very easy walking distance from 51.

Corrie and his staff keep 51 spotlessly clean and serve up great breakfasts each day. It was a really pleasurable stay for us, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We will return on our next SA visit.

Room Tip: The mountain view room at the back is large, comfortable and quiet.

We found this delightful gem after looking a quite a few properties in different parts of Cape Town. We decided that we wanted to stay in Camps Bay as we had friends nearby and the fact that we could get onto the Hop On Hop Off bus quite easily (within walking distance ) and thus see a lot of tourist sites without having to use a car ( which we did get towards the latter part of our stay for those areas where a car would be more beneficial and for getting ready to go on the Garden Route and further). There were some lovely properties which had good Trip Advisor reviews but many were very high up the mountain and if you did not have a car we felt that it would be difficult to manoeuvre (or if you did have one it would not be that easy to find parking) -- 51 on Camps Bay was not only an ideal location but an ideal place to stay in every respect. -- WE JUST LOVED IT!

Not to take away from properties higher up on the hill which probably have lovely views, one has to decide what one wants -- but at 51 on Camps Bay, we felt that we got exactly what we wanted -- something small and quaint, elegant, away from the action yet close to it -- and more so.

Parking was safe off street in front of the property. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach, the main street and its restaurants and that is one of the ideals things about the location. There is a bit of an uphill climb going from the beach area to the B&B -- but that gives the great views once in place. The climb is not bad at all and of course it is downhill the other way.

This is a jewel that is not that advertised because, we were told, it is so popular among those guests who have already been there before that there is a lot of repeat business and it is like a well-kept secret that you are lucky to discover. We definitely felt lucky.

The views were wonderful and from our room we had a super view of the Atlantic ocean -- and waking up to seeing the sun shimmering on the water or seeing the sunset was a delight that it was difficult to give that up the day we had to leave to continue our trip to its next location.

Our room was very comfortable with a very large bathroom.

Breakfast was excellent and it was also so relaxing to have a drink by the pool and look at the ocean.

Corrie, the manager, and his team were fabulous and like others have commented -- Corrie really gave us the best suggestions as to to restaurants or things to do and visit. There are super places to eat nearby. The owner Merryl came by on Corrie's day off and she was a delight.

It was such a pleasure being there, we already wish we were back there and we would definitely return to 51 on Camps Bay.

Room Tip: We had room facing the ocean and it was wonderful

We stayed in 51 Camps Bay a few weeks ago in the honeymoon suite. Starting with the many positives - It is a really large open room with views all around and the bathroom is also a good size with a great bath. The service by the B&B hosts is excellent - they cannot do enough for you to book restaurants or trips and provide general hints and tips. The breakfast is good offering yoghurt and fruit and then a delicious cooked breakfast. There are fresh flowers everywhere which is lovely and the wholoe property is spotless! The location is great for camps bay being only a short 5 mins walk down the hill and 8 mins walk up! However - there is only a sliding door which doesn't completely close between the bedroom and the bathroom so it is not too private. The property is right on camps bay road which is really busy and so we got woken up in the mornings with commuters and trucks and at the weekend with taxis running through the night. These are the only downsides to the property and we had a great time.
