We stayed for 3 nights towards the end of our short break and what we liked about this place was the great location so close to the beach and the staff, Andrew and Gerry, who were very friendly and welcoming hence the rating. There is off street parking in front of the hotel, safe and Wifi. Where it was let down was the pool which they have had constant problems with and the hand held shower with hardly any pressure and was difficult to adjust temperature both problems due to the water shortage in the area. I requested before arrival we wanted a room with great views which Andrew duly arranged for us in room 7 on the corner of the building. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly and accommodating on what I wanted. The hotel does need a makeover but for a short stay was perfectly fine for us.

Just got back from an eight day trip staying at The Primi Royal. The hotel is in an ideal location just minutes away from the facilities of the Camps Bay strip. The rooms were spacious and the facilities were there but sadly this lovely little hotel needs a facelift as the furniture and decor is rather tired. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with the water at times but as there is a severe water shortage in the area at the moment we understood it was not easy for them to rectify. On saying this we had an amazing time in Cape Town and Camps Bay is the jewel in the crown. Anybody thinking of visiting Cape Town could not fail to be impressed.

The staff at this hotel are very helpful, friendly and courteous. On arrival we were shown to our room (7) which had stunning views and on first impression seemed fine, however, that’s where it stopped. The room was very tired and we then discovered the following problems ..... the duvet was heavily stained, the carpets were also stained, the bathroom was in need of serious maintenance as the shower was non existent (being a handheld head coming off the main bathroom taps which was unusable) the wash hand basin had no hot water, there has been a water shortage issue in South Africa so there was a bucket provided to catch any water for flushing the loo, hairdryer not working, plug socket hanging off the wall under the vanity mirror, safe not working and the plunge pool unusable due to do a build up of algae. We reported all these issues to the reception who we advised we were not prepared to stay in this room and if they could not resolve these problems we would ask for a refund and find alternative accommodation. Primrose, who was on that day was as helpful as she could be and arranged for us to have a meeting the following morning with Andrew, the manager. Fortunately another room was found for us (8) which was a much better room with a fully functioning bathroom and shower. In summary, as stated previously, this hotel is in a great location and it’s staff extremely pleasant, however, it is in urgent need of a complete overhaul and update and unfortunately on this basis of the above comments we could not recommend this hotel.

Near to the beach and restaurants and also a shop to buy any food (not alcohol, but the hotel has a bar). We saw some beautiful sunsets from the bar area. Friendly and helpful staff. Great base point for exploring cape town

Excellent food and service in a beautiful setting. We can recommend the grilled kingklip and pasta dishes, plus the mocktails. Prices are reasonable and service is unhurried. If you are looking for a fun spot in Camps Bay this could be for you.
