We had a fantastic family outing at Camps Bay Beach. The drive from Cape Town to Camps Bay Beach rivals the Pacific Coast Highway or Amalfi Coast for scenic views, twists, and turns. There is plenty of parking if you get there before lunch. We found an incredibly reasonable parking deck (only 10 rand an hour?) near the restaurant row across from the beach. There are plenty of umbrella and chair vendors, clean public restrooms, and several showers for washing off the sand. Be aware that there are constant beach vendors selling ice cream, jewelry, handicrafts and cool drinks. It reminded me of the beach vendors in Mexico, and didn't bother us too much. The passionfruit (grenadilla) popsicles were actually delicious and very refreshing!! We walked along the boulders bordering the beach, but the cold waters preventing me from going in any further than my knees. BRRRRR!
