The Bay Hotel is an amazing place to stay - the location against Camps Bay beach is beautiful; as well as having a great view of the mountains and being near to lovely restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is spacious with a gorgeous pool area with loungers, nicely close to the cocktail bar so you can enjoy a martini looking out over the beach and sea. The staff at the hotel were so friendly from the moment we arrived - they really went out of their way to make our stay very memorable....we definitely hope to come back soon!

Hotel and Rooms were excellent
Housekeeping not up to standard for a 5* hotel, they removed towels (even when they didn't need changing) cups etc from the room and did not replace them.
On showing to the room they did not explain where anything was, or how anything worked
Receptionist insulted our intelligence by putting other guest requests before ours
Saying the above we did not let any of the above spoil our stay, service in the restaurant and bar was very good, and Camps bay, Cape Town and the Peninsula are wonderful places

Room Tip: Deluxe sea view rooms are excellent plenty of space, super pool and sea view

I attended a work conference which was held at The Bay hotel and we stayed overnight. Entrance to the hotel is wheelchair accessible via a ramp but I didn't see any designated disabled parking bays but my car was parked for me. Entrance and reception desk / area is all on 1 level and easily accessible, as is the coffee shop and flower shop.
Access to the wheelchair accessible room is via a small'ish lift.
The room itself is lovely! Plenty of space for moving around, easy access to both sides of the bed.
Room has the usual mini bar and tea / coffee making facilities, which I always appreciate.
The bathroom is nice and big and has a roll in shower with a hand held shower attachment and also has a shower seat. There's also a bath if needed. Easy under the counter access by the basin for one's legs. Toilet has a grab rail on the one side. Heated towel rail etc.
Lovely view over the soccer field and beach.
My only gripe would be the route which one needs to follow in order to get from the hotel to the function venue. It involves having to navigate through a heavy door which is at the bottom of a very steep ramp / going on a short outside trip and through another double set of heavy doors and viola you finally get there. All of this could be avoided if the hotel invested in one of those stair climbers.
The function venue itself, once you get there isn't a bad venue and is wheelchair accessible, there's also a disabled toilet, which is in the men's toilet and the one thing that really annoyed me is that the toilet seat leans against the flush button, so if you lean to hard backwards the toilet flushes!
Besides the route from the hotel to the function venue, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel!

Thank you very much for your positive feedback on the Hotel and our wheelchair facilities, your suggestion regarding the stair climber is appreciated and we will certainly look at obtaining one for the Hotel in order to make access to our conference centre quicker.

We stayed here over New Year's eve and were not impressed with the hotel. The room (which was exepensive) was right next to the road so the road noise was really bad. Make sure your room is in the main big building (preferably on a higher floor). The service could be improved, expecially around the pool area! The swimming pool area is cool, but just have lunch here, enjoy the swimming pool for a day and stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is in the main big building (preferably on a higher floor).

Thank you for your comments regarding our property, thank you also for mentioning the issues you experienced during your stay with us in the New Year, the noise from the streets is unavoidable and will always happen here during this time as Camps Bay is a very popular New Years destination for people.

My 14 year old son and I stayed here for 7 nights combining a tour of the Cape with supporting my elder sons school rugby tour. Our original plan was to spend the first few nights at the Bay and therafter take up one of the many excellent and at that time of year (winter) reasonably priced options in Cape Town , however , we became so settled and comfortable in the the relaxed and friendly ambience of this hotel that we stayed put! The road system around Cape Town of course makes this location a very convenient "interesection"between the city and the stunning coastal routes of the peninsula.

The staff are excellent and good humoured and dealt with our many requests and questions in a calm and professional manner. I had left my driving licence in the uk and was having a problem with the car hire companies. The hotel took the problem on board and all was quickly resolved (also thanks DVLA). We dined at the hotel a couple of times and the food was first class. Breakfast was quite special with the most stunning view of the ocean to complement the excellent food and service.

The overriding "feel" of this hote is relaxed , secure and sophisticated in style but nicely avoiding a sense of taking itself too seriously. One slight negative is the the rather drab ,grey uniform of the otherwise charming female receptionists-it needs to be more in keeping with the atmosphere of the hotel. Warm and stylish!

Excellent winter special package. 1 night stay including breakfast and a massage. Fabulous opportunity for locals to enjoy this lovely hotel as it is far too expensive for us in the summer season. Beautiful suites, magnificent views over the bay and outstanding service. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was excellent!

Room Tip: Ask for sea facing.

This hotel has stayed the same for as long as I can remember. The location is perfect in order to see that side of the mountain and the Waterfront is close by too. Being south African and now living abroad the price is not too bad but it is an expensive choice in comparison to the other just as nice hotels and BnB's I stay in but they are in different areas so I tend to only stay here 2 or 3 nights at the most and move on. No children under 16 too which is sometimes nice when relaxing by the pool! Great surrounding restaurants - would recommend Paranga.
