We ate here on our last evening in Cape Town and it was fantastic! Firstly the standard of cuisine throughout our 4 week stay in SA had been remarkeable and had really made our holiday a memorable one so Hussar Grill had a lot to live up to...... and it really did.
The restaurant has lots of atmosphere and is decorated in a cosy style so immediately I felt relaxed and comfortable. We had booked and were glad we had as it was packed on a Saturday night. The table when we sat down already had nibbles to be enjoyed with a beer as we read the menu which was nice.
I had the baked camembert to start and parmesan chicken for main with a side order of onion rings-all of which were delicious with the main being the stand out, the mash potato was really good! My husband had boerewars to start then a t-bone steak with a pepper sauce, which he said was excellent. We shared a bottle of red wine and a very nice malva pudding, a whiskey for him and an amaretto for me before leaving very full and very happy. All for the very reasonable price of £48. Service was friendly and efficient although went a bit wobbly when the restaurant became v.busy but this was to be expected and we were not in a rush.We would definitely eat here again.
