This is a comfortable guest house with a great sea view and good location
to Camps Bay restaurants / bars.
Very good, freshly prepared breakfast every morning.

Nice balcony to watch sunsets over the sea.

We stayed a few weeks in this beautiful guest house, from 27 December to 20 January 2014. The place is very nice and the location is unbeatable, with beautiful views towards the sea and 12 apostoles. It has a parking lot on the front of the building, making it very practical and safe for the car, and only a few minutes from Camps Bay and 10 minutes drive from Waterfront. The staff is very helpfull and friendly, they helped us make reservations for restaurants and excursions, the atmosphere is friendly and nice, you feel at home. Breakfast is buffet, very complete and filling, It is served in the main lounge, and you can even have breakfast outside on a small terrace.
During the first 10 days we stayed in room number 5 which is located on the ground floor, it is spacious, with access to the pool, nice bathroom and kitchenette. The rest of our stay we moved to room number 3 sea view, where you can watch the sunset. The room is very spacious with a very spacious and comfortable bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and large. The only drawback is that the rooms have no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that is practical but noisy.
We will definetly stay in this guest house next time.
Tamara and Ivonne thank you for your warm attention

After some business in Cape Town I wanted to spend more time in South Africa before returning to the unremitting gloom of a British winter. The first spot I headed off to was nearby Camps Bay for a few days. 61 on Camps Bay is a great choice for those who are not bothered about staying anywhere super fancy/expensive - it's just a realy nice and friendly place. The rooms are simple but spotless (the bed was awesome!) and there's a good breakfast in the morning. There's an honesty system for drinks and nibbles and other stuff like toothpaste in the communal lounge which is really helpful if you forgot or can't get what you need in the shops (beware that the supermarkets in Camps Bay do not sell alcohol - no, I don't know why either). The location is good too, just about 1km up from Victoria Road with the beach and most of the bars and restaurants. In fact, friends who were also in Camps Bay but staying at a swanky spot way up the hill said they wished they had booked here too.
The two women who seemed to run the place (one is the owner) were very helpful with tips about what to do and recommended an outstanding restaurant (Hussar's) which is just a few minutes walk up the hill, which I went to with my friends. I'd definitely come back if I want to come back to Camps Bay.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our Garden Route road trip. The rooms are spacious and the top floor rooms have view of the sea, and include a fridge. Yvonne and Tamara were really welcoming and more than happy to help with booking anything (hikes, open top bus tour, taxis and restaurants) and also arranged a cake for my boyfriend's birthday.

It's in a great location - 5 minutes walk to the sea and main strip on Camps Bay, a few minutes walk from Hussars Grill (see review - fab for steak) and also a good seafood restaurant (The Cod Father) and you can pick up the City Tour Bus just down the road.

They have a lovely area for breakfast, which is included. Thanks for a wonderful start to our adventure. We would definitely stay here if we come back to Cape Town (and think we will be back!)

Room Tip: We had an ocean view room on the first floor, which was great. It was a little chilly at the time t...

Those were the most perfect days of my life. The ladies helped us a lot with restaurant information, buying us some tickets on internet and guiding us for the most important tours.
The room was really cute and lovely, the only thing they need are air conditioned.

Dear Guest,

Yes its a huge advantage to be situated within walking distance to the night life and busy restaurants along the beach front in Camps Bay. a. Parking is a problem in the busy season and b. its no drinking and driving at all in Cape Town.
Hope youll be back.

Kind regards
Yvonne
